Cherry trees are the decoration of any garden, and sweet berries are a reward for hard work. Muza cherry variety has become known to Russian summer residents recently. A representative of the Pink family appeared thanks to the work of the Oryol training and experimental station in the recent 1982. Breeders bred the plant by open free pollination of cherry seedlings of the Lyubitelskaya variety. The high palatability of the fruit quickly made the novelty in demand.

Description of the varietal species

Muse Cherry is suitable for cultivation in various climatic conditions. The plant is recommended for permanent cultivation in areas with a temperate continental climate.

Muse variety description, general information:

  • tree varietal variety;
  • self-infertile variety;
  • average yield - 15 kilograms per tree per season;
  • medium precocity - the first harvest appears only 4 years after the planting;
  • average ripening period - from flowering to picking berries takes, on average, 2 months;
  • crown with medium foliage, slightly spreading;
  • intensive growth;
  • mixed type of fruiting;
  • resistance to most diseases of the family;
  • stress resistance, tolerates drought and cold down to -35 degrees.

One of the few negative qualities was the obligatory neighborhood with pollinators. The best option was planting next to Vladimirskaya or Turgenevka cherries.

Characteristic of the tree and fruits

A medium-sized tree has an attractive appearance and will be a worthy decoration of any suburban area, especially during the flowering period. Characteristics of tree and fruit:

  • height does not exceed 4 meters;
  • raised crown with powerful branches;
  • slightly sprawling tree;
  • shoots are durable;
  • peduncle of medium length, easily detaches from the fruit;
  • large berries - up to 4 grams by weight;
  • fruit color - rich red;
  • shape of berries - onion;
  • weakly pronounced slight ribbing of berries;
  • dense skin with a beautiful glossy sheen;
  • good, balanced palatability;
  • smooth bone, easily falls off pulp;
  • good fruit transportability;
  • berries retain their marketable appearance for a long time.

Cherry berries have a sweet and sour taste and are suitable for making compote, swirling jam, jam or processing into juice. Musa's fruits are often chosen for making pies and eating fresh.

Variety resistance to diseases

The plant has good immunity to most diseases of the Rosaceae family. Growers rarely encounter the most common problem among cherry trees - coccomycosis.

Perforated spotting and moniliosis are a great danger for the Muza variety.

For the purpose of prevention, experts recommend timely cleaning and sanitary measures and treatment with Bordeaux mixture.

Features of planting and proper care

For Muse cherries choose elevated, well-lit areas. When planting, it is necessary to take into account the depth of the passage of groundwater, it must be at least 2 meters. If there is a threat of flooding, drainage must be done, otherwise the risk of plant death is high.

The time for planting seedlings is spring. The young shoot should not be deeply buried in the ground. Pre-feed is introduced into the planting pit - organic fertilizer. At a distance of 3 meters from the plant, several fruit crops are planted - pollinating trees. When a tree grows 3-4 meters, its growth is limited.

Further care of the fruit crop consists of simple agrotechnical measures:

  • timely watering the plant;
  • feeding;
  • cropping;
  • preventive treatment for pests and diseases.

With proper and competent care, cherries are able to show equally decent yields for 25 years.
