Young plants of Kharkiv during the growth period can withstand temperatures as low as -2 °C and as high as +40 °C. The lack of moisture does not affect the taste and commercial qualities. Heads of cabbage do not crack even if they remain ripe in the garden for longer than the due date.

Growing

Description of the variety says that Kharkiv cabbage can be grown in two ways: seedling or seedless.The plant is sun-loving, therefore it is desirable to take well-lit beds under it. The seedless method involves sowing seeds directly into the ground. Do this in late April or early May. Sowing is carried out to a depth of no more than 2 cm. Dry soil is pre-moistened a day before the start of work.

The distance between the rows of Kharkiv is about half a meter. As soon as shoots begin to appear, the crops are thinned out and only the strongest specimens are left.

When growing cabbage seedlings, seedlings dive into open ground a couple of months after sowing. The distance between the holes is left at 40 cm.

But slugs can significantly spoil the cabbage crop.To combat them, it is recommended to take a liter jar of wood ash, 2 tbsp. l. table s alt, 2 tbsp. l. ground black pepper, 2 tbsp. l. mustard powder. Mix everything thoroughly and sprinkle over the cabbage beds.

Harvest and storage of crops

Kharkovskaya cabbage harvest starts 150 days after germination. For work, choose clear and dry weather, preferably before the onset of the first frost.

The harvested crop can be stored for up to six months, that is, almost until cabbage ripens next season. During storage, it is not affected by pests and is not affected by diseases.
