Anonim

Despite the fact that raspberry variety Skromnitsa has existed for 30 years, it is still in great demand among gardeners and summer residents. This juicy berry has excellent technical and taste characteristics, good yield, resistance to external conditions, excellent frost resistance and resistance to diseases and pests. Shy is considered one of the best varieties of medium ripening.

Description and characteristics of the Shy variety

This raspberry variety was bred back in 1982 by breeder Kazakov I.V., entered into the State Register in 1990 and has since won the love and devotion of hundreds of thousands of people throughout the Russian Federation and beyond .

This is not a remontant shrub, reaching a height of up to 2 meters, slightly spreading. Shoots give a lot of branches, the average number of shoots, almost no thorns. Berries from 2 to 4 grams, spherical or slightly conical, bright, with medium pulp density. The taste is sweet, minimal sourness. The fruits are formed by brushes. Modest - mid-season variety.

Main advantages and disadvantages

Pros and consEndurance, non-capricious character.Absence of thorns (there are single ones at the bottom of the shoots). Can be harvested by mechanized method, which allows the use of raspberries for industrial plantings.Taste qualities. The ability to transport without harm to the berries.Drought and frost resistant.Raspberry disease resistance.

There are almost no shortcomings in the Shy variety. These include only a tendency to be affected by gray rot and susceptibility to spider mite attacks.

Cultivation

To get full-fledged raspberry crops, you must exactly follow the rules for planting a plant, selecting soil, light levels, humidity, and so on.

When and where to plant?

Skromnitsa variety is planted in sunny areas protected from strong winds. The soil must be permeable, nutritious, loose, because the bushes grow in one place up to 10-15 years.

The landing time depends on the area and climate. In the southern regions, they are planted from mid-April; in the central and northern regions, this cannot be done before mid-May. In autumn, planting begins after the onset of leaf fall.

Preparation of planting material

Strong seedlings with developed roots are selected for planting. It is necessary to plant raspberries to the level of the root collar, since deepening will lead to decay and death of the plant. The planted raspberry Skromnitsa is cut at a height of 30-40 centimeters from the soil level.

Fitting technology

Raspberry grows quickly, so the distance between the bushes must be observed. The planting pattern is 40-50 centimeters between seedlings and 1.5-2 meters between rows. Use pits or trenches 40 centimeters deep.

How to care for a plant

Despite its unpretentiousness, raspberry Shy needs care. After landing, it is necessary to provide optimal conditions for adaptation to a new place.

Irrigation and fertilization

Shy is drought tolerant, but that doesn't mean it will bear fruit profusely without enough moisture. It can survive short-term drought, but bushes need regular watering to grow and form a crop. At the same time, it is not worth pouring raspberries, the soil should just be moist.

Plants will be in one place for at least a dozen years, greatly depleting the soil. In order for the bushes to continue to bear fruit regularly, they need to be fed. In the spring, nitrogen and potassium fertilizers are applied, ammonium nitrate or urea is best. Do this until the berries are set. When they start to fill up, add superphosphate.

Raspberries do not tolerate the presence of chlorine in fertilizers, therefore, such substances are not used for dressing Shy.

Mulching

Mulching is carried out to preserve the looseness of the earth and moisture. A layer of mulch helps to maintain a stable temperature at the root system of the plant, preventing overheating or freezing. Mulch also decomposes gradually, as it consists of organic matter.

Nutrients gradually enrich the land under the plantation, making it suitable for growing berry crops in one place for decades.

The following substances are suitable for the role of mulch:

  1. Must or rotted compost.
  2. Crushed pine bark.
  3. Weathered peat.
  4. Fallen dry leaves.

Mulching should be done using materials that are not contaminated with pathogens that can infect raspberries.

Cutting

The Shy is pruned in the fall, after harvest, in preparation for the coming winter. Fruiting shoots are cut at ground level. Sanitary pruning is performed in the spring. At this time, diseased, broken and frozen shoots are cut out during the winter. Shortened to a he althy kidney. The tops are cut by 10-15 centimeters - this stimulates the formation of the crop. In the spring, work is carried out before the start of sap flow.

Diseases and pests

The shy woman has enviable he alth. It is immune to such a dangerous disease as anthracnose, as well as to most fungal infections. This makes it in demand among amateur gardeners and summer residents, for whom the fight against diseases is difficult. However, raspberries are susceptible to gray rot, which often appears due to waterlogging or excessive deepening during planting.

Of the pests for raspberries of this variety, the spider mite is dangerous, which develops in dry conditions, so mulching is so important for berry bushes, which makes it possible not only to get a he althy harvest, but also indirectly fight the pest.

Cleaning and storage

Shy Berries can be harvested at full maturity. They tolerate transportation without problems, they can stay without a refrigerator for 2-3 days (depending on the ambient temperature). They can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week without harm.

Excellently tolerate freezing, retaining its excellent taste, shape and useful properties.
