There are many easy homemade strawberry wine recipes. This drink can be made from berries, water and granulated sugar, or other ingredients can be added to it. Most often, yeast or raisins are put in the composition. There are also recipes for fortified wines using vodka. To get a delicious drink, you need to strictly follow the basic rules for its production.

Subtleties of making strawberry wine

To make delicious wine, you need to follow these guidelines:

  1. Use ripe, richly colored berries. Green or spoiled fruits will not work.
  2. Before cooking, strawberries should be washed as they touch the ground.
  3. To add yeast, you can use raisins or wine sourdough.
  4. Strawberry juice is hard to come by. Therefore, dry wines are not made from berries. They are usually used for sweet drinks.
  5. Wine should ferment at a temperature of 18-26 degrees.
  6. Drink should be kept in a cool room. The optimum temperature is considered to be 8 degrees.

Selection and preparation of berries

To make wine from meadow, forest or field Victoria, you need to choose the right raw materials. Fruit should be ripe and bright red.

For making wine, the fruits are usually not washed so that natural yeast remains on their surface. However, strawberries should be washed. Otherwise, the drink will taste earthy.

Do not use a meat grinder or blender to grind fruits. Crushed bones will cause bitterness. Therefore, the berries should be crushed with your hands. Wine should be prepared in clean, sterilized containers. It is recommended to use enameled containers. A glass container is also suitable.

Rules and terms of storage

Drink bottles should be stored horizontally. Thanks to this, the cork will not dry out, remaining constantly wet. It also prevents air from getting in. The ideal temperature for wine is +8 degrees.

Before use, the bottle should be kept in the same position in which it was stored. Then carefully pour the contents into the decanter.

When turbidity appears, the container should be raised. Wine should not be kept in a carafe for a long time, as it oxidizes quickly.

Wine containers put away for storage are recommended to be signed. This will help determine the correct order of drinking.
