Fungicide Scalpel: instructions for use and composition, dosage and analogues
Infection of crops with pathogenic fungi often causes crop losses. Today, in the arsenal of farmers there are effective, safe means for the treatment and prevention of common diseases. Scalpel is a fungicide with a wide spectrum of antimycotic activity that provides plants with long-term protection against infections without exhibiting phytotoxic properties.
Composition and release form of the fungicide
The active composition of the drug is represented by a triazole compound - flutriafol, the amount of which is 250 grams per 1 liter of the total volume of the mixture."Scalpel" is available in the form of a concentrated suspension, packaged in plastic containers with screw caps of 5 liters.
The principle of action of the drug "Scalpel"
The drug acts systemically, penetrating into plant tissues and rapidly spreading acropetally. The flutriafol molecule geometrically corresponds to the center of the protein responsible for the assembly of ergosterol. The result of the interaction is a violation of the synthesis of styrenes in the cell membrane of the pathogen and the suppression of the development of mycelium. Flutriafol also has a fumigating effect.
Fungicide "Scalpel" has a deep and persistent therapeutic and prophylactic effect, ensuring the death of fungi on diseased plants and long-term (up to 6 weeks) protection from primary and re-contamination.
When is it used?
A drug active against aerogenic and soil infections is used for antifungal treatment of plantings of wheat and barley (spring and winter shoots), as well as sugar beet.
"Scalpel" is used for the treatment and prevention of the following crop diseases:
- powdery mildew;
- rust;
- septoria;
- spotting;
- fusarium ear damage;
- rhynchosporiasis;
- cercosporosis;
- phomoz.
Therapeutic treatment is carried out at the first signs of infection of plants, prophylactic - in accordance with the stage of vegetation of a particular crop. The protective mechanism is formed 6-7 hours after the use of the "Scalpel" tool.
Consumption rate
Fungicide is used according to the dosages recommended by the manufacturer, observing consumption rates and processing times.
Consumption rate of fungicide "Scalpel" for different crops:
Treatment object | Dose of the drug, liter/hectareWorking solution standard, liter/hectare | Treatment rate
0.5 | up to 300 | 1-2 | |
0.5 | up to 300 | 1Sugarbeet
300- 400 | 1-2 |
The waiting period for planting sugar beets is 30 days, for cereals - 40 days.
Fungicide instructions
"Scalpel" is intended for treatment of plantings by spraying plants with freshly prepared aqueous dilution of the concentrate suspension. To prepare the working fluid, the required amount of fungicide is mixed with an equal volume of water. This primary dilution is then dissolved in a spray tank filled with a third of the total volume of water. Mixing thoroughly, add the remaining water to the tank.
During irrigation, it is recommended to continue stirring the solution to evenly distribute the suspension particles.
Spray crops of cereals at the beginning of the heading stage, in case of application against head fusarium - during the heading period. Sugar beet plantings are sprayed when the first signs of infection appear. Re-treatment is possible after 2 weeks.
"Scalpel" remains active in conditions of low air temperature (the lower threshold is +5 °C). Weather resistance is established 2 hours after work.
Precautions
The fungicide is classified as a class 3 hazardous chemical, indicating a moderate degree of hazard to human he alth.
When working with the drug, the following rules must be observed:
- restrict access of third parties and animals to the processing area and adjacent areas;
- use personal protective equipment (thick overalls, gloves, respirator, eye shield);
- exclude the possibility of direct contact of the fungicide with the skin and mucous membranes;
- spraying in calm weather in the evening hours.
The minimum bee summer limitation period is 6 hours. Mechanical sprayers are used for irrigation, aerial spraying is prohibited.
Storage rules
"Scalpel" should be stored in a tightly closed original container, away from household items, food, out of reach of children and animals. Containers with the drug are placed in a place protected from direct sunlight.
Expiration date
3 years, provided the original packaging is intact.
Analogues
A number of fungicidal preparations are produced on the basis of flutriafol.
Analogues of the "Scalpel" in composition:
- "Impact";
- "Triafol";
- "Alpha Phoenix";
- "Phytodoctor".
