Fans of high-yielding low-growing tomatoes, when choosing a collection of seeds, should definitely pay attention to the Ryabchik tomato. The peculiarity of the variety is that large fruits are formed on a low bush. Are there other benefits to this strain?

Description

Rabchik is a mid-season determinant tomato variety. The plant is not prone to strong pinching, which eliminates the need for gardeners to pinch.

Characteristics of large-fruited variety:

  • It takes 110-115 days from germination to fruiting.
  • The height of the bush varies from 60 to 75 cm.
  • Tomatoes are flattened at the top and bottom. The surface of the red fruits is divided into even slices by thin yellow stripes. Due to the color and shape, the vegetable looks like an apple. Fruit weight - 200-300 g.

Crop productivity is high: under normal weather conditions and appropriate care, 5-6 fruits are tied on a branch. Tomatoes ripen quickly almost simultaneously. Due to active pouring, the fruits simply do not have time to become infected with late blight. Also, unlike many large-fruited varieties, tomatoes are resistant to cracking.

The variety is suitable for growing in open and closed ground. The fruits are used for fresh consumption and preparation of tomato juice.

Features of cultivation

Caring for Ryabchik tomatoes is no different from caring for all subspecies of vegetable crops. In order for the plant to develop normally and eventually give a good harvest, you need to carry out a series of manipulations:

  • Sowing. Seeds are sown in a loose pre-calcined and cooled substrate 50-55 (maximum 60) days before transplanting seedlings into the ground. It is imperative to observe the sowing time, otherwise growing seedlings will be useless if the plants overgrow by the planting date. In order to accelerate the appearance of sprouts on the surface, the container is covered with a film or glass. To avoid moldy soil and damage to planting material, the shelter is periodically removed. As soon as the young plants are a week old, the temperature in the room is set at +15-+18 C. At the age of 2 weeks, the temperature is raised to +22C.
  • Picking. If the seed germination is 100% and the interval between sprouts is less than the permissible one, the plants that have formed 2-3 leaves are transplanted into separate cups or pulled out. Tomato seedlings of the Ryabchik variety are planted in a permanent place at the end of the formation of 5-6 leaves. Experienced gardeners recommend a double transplant, because manipulation contributes to the formation of many lateral roots. As you know, the more powerful the root system, the better the condition and fertility of the plant.
  • Water. Vegetable culture is not very demanding on moisture, however, plants need to be watered regularly. It is impossible to allow a strong drying of the soil, otherwise the description given by the manufacturer will bear little resemblance to reality. After each watering or heavy rain, the soil in the garden with tomatoes is carefully loosened with a chopper.
  • Feeding. Tomatoes of this variety are fertilized with a solution of chicken manure and manure, compost. During the growing season, the bushes are pampered with fertilizers 3-4 times.

Reviews about the tomato Hazel grouse are only positive. According to gardeners, tomatoes delight the eye with their original shape and color, and taste buds with a sweet rich taste.
