Tomato Vernissage: description and characteristics of the variety, yield with photo

Vernissage yellow tomato is valued not only for the original color of the fruit, but also for the fact that it contains a small percentage of purines, which causes allergies in many people. The variety was bred by Ruslan Dukhov, who lives and crosses different cultures in the village of Mishurin Rog, which is located in the outback of the Dnepropetrovsk region.

Line of tomatoes

The breeder created a whole series of Vernissage tomatoes. For a black fruit with a yellow stripe in 2012, Ruslan received an award. The tomato was highly praised for its palatability.

Pink variety of Perfume created by crossing Chinese velvet with Moravian miracle. The bush reaches a height of one and a half meters. The fruits are tied in clusters, each of 6 tomatoes weighs from 60 to 85 g.

Tomatoes canned for the winter. Vernissage pink surprises with productivity. One plant produces up to 15 kg of bright yellow-striped fruits.

Through natural selection, the breeder has obtained green tomatoes that taste like exotic kiwis.

Features of the variety

All tomatoes of the Vernissage series have beautiful fruits of different colors. An indeterminate plant is grown in fields, summer cottages in Moldova, Ukraine, and in the southern regions of Russia. The variety feels fine in the greenhouse. Tomato bushes stretch to a height of 1.5 m, so their top is cut off. So that they do not grow, the stepchildren are removed, leaving not all the stems, but only two or three of them, which are tied to the trellis.

The first yellow tomato with pink strokes ripens 2 months after the growing season and has:

• round shape;
• pink stripes;
• thick skinned;
• sweet taste;
• pleasant sourness.

6 fruits are tied on 1 bunch, no more than 4 bushes are planted per square meter. An average of 14 kg of tomatoes is harvested from such an area. To make them larger, leave 8 brushes.

Pros and cons

Tomatoes of an unusual color look original in a jar, especially if fruits of different colors are placed in it. The advantages of the Vernissage line include:

• great taste;
• high yield;
• attractive appearance;
• disease resistance.

Due to the dense skin, fresh tomatoes are stored in a cool room until the end of January. They do not crumple, are not damaged when transported for hundreds of kilometers.

The plant is afraid of late blight, leaves and fruits love Colorado beetles.

How to plant and care?

Vernissage seeds are placed in peat pots or in the soil of a greenhouse when the air in it warms up to 20 degrees. When planting in the hole, pour a spoonful of ash and superphosphate. Tomato variety care includes:

• bush formation;
• spraying against pests and diseases;
• fertilizing;
• regular watering.

Colorado beetles flock to tomatoes as much as potatoes. To prevent insects from landing on bushes, you need to dilute an ampoule of the Bombardier insecticide in water, stir the composition and spray the leaves with it.

During the growing season, tomatoes are affected by late blight. Treating the bushes with Tatu fungicide helps prevent the onset of the disease. 30 ml and 5 liters of water will be enough for a hundred square meters of land.

When the plant begins to develop, the stems are tied to the trellis, excess cysts are removed. It is better to feed tomatoes with humus; 1.5 kg of this organic fertilizer is enough for a bush. In the heat, a bed with tomatoes is watered every other day, in cloudy weather it is enough to do this once a week. Positive feedback about the Vernissage line can be heard from summer residents and farmers.

Some are delighted with the original appearance of the fruit, others are attracted by the commercial qualities of tomatoes. Black tomato is considered the most delicious among all Vernissage varieties.
