Details of planting a flower

In order to succeed in growing a crop, it is recommended to carry out planting work correctly.

When to plant?

Roses are allowed to be planted in spring or autumn. In the first case, it is recommended to do this after the soil has fully warmed up. In autumn, the crop is planted in September or October - it all depends on the climate of the region.

Plant for planting

This culture develops normally in different areas. To achieve lush flowering, the bushes are planted in well-lit places. It is important to choose areas that are well protected from drafts and wind.

Preparation of seedlings

If you plan to plant a plant with an open root system, it should be pre-soaked in water. This will help saturate the roots with moisture and help them straighten out. Shrubs with covered roots can be placed in the recess along with the ground.

Boarding process

To plant a crop, you need a hole 40 centimeters in diameter and 40-50 centimeters deep. The pit should be filled with humus, peat and sand - 1 bucket each. You will also need to add half a bucket of fine clay and 1 glass of ash and superphosphate.

The rose seedling needs to be installed in the center of the recess on a hill of soil. In this case, it is recommended to spread the roots evenly in a circle.

The grafting area should be 3-4 centimeters below the ground surface.

The soil is recommended to be compacted, moistened and covered with a mulch layer. For this, it is permissible to use humus, sawdust, hay.

After loosening, the mulch layer should be renewed.

Rules for plant care

For a culture to grow and develop normally, it must be properly looked after.

Irrigation and fertilization

Water a rose once a week. To do this, it is better to use warm settled water. It is recommended to moisten the soil in the morning or in the evening. In dry weather, the amount of watering is increased. 1 bush requires 8-10 liters of water.

During the season, the plant needs to be fed several times:

  • for the first time the culture is fed after blooming buds, using mullein infusion;
  • second feeding is carried out after 2 weeks with urea;
  • Third and fourth time you should use mineral products based on potassium, magnesium and phosphorus;
  • fifth dressing is carried out in early autumn - for this, an ash solution and potassium sulfate are used.

Shaping cut

Shrub needs moderate pruning. Too much shortening of the shoots should not be, as this provokes a weakening of the culture.Insufficient pruning will lead to the formation of a branched bush with weak branches. It is better to cut the culture into 7-8 buds. The procedure is carried out in early March. In the same period, it is worth removing damaged and frozen shoots.

In autumn, the rose should be cut before shelter for the winter. It is recommended to carefully remove the leaves from the bush, and cut the stems by 15-20 centimeters. From the third year of life, anti-aging pruning begins. From the central part of the bush, it is worth removing old shoots aged 2-3 years.

Shelter for the winter period

Culture should be covered for the winter. Before carrying out warming procedures, it is recommended to remove leaves, flowers and unripened tops from the bush. At the same time, the culture should be sprinkled with earth and covered with leaves or spruce branches.

Prevention from diseases and pests

Rose of this variety is resistant to high humidity, which provokes the development of fungal infections.For the purpose of prevention, you can spray the culture with a solution of copper sulfate. It is also permissible to use Bordeaux liquid for this purpose. The procedure is carried out in the spring. This should be done once every 2 weeks.

Also, the culture may suffer from attacks by various pests:

  1. Rose aphids. In this case, the leaves curl and become covered with a sticky coating. Karbofos, Aktellik help to cope with parasites.
  2. Spider mite. In this case, the leaves are covered with a small white cobweb. Karbofos, Commander help to destroy pests.
  3. Rose Leaf Roller. When attacked by this pest, the leaves curl lengthwise. In such a situation, the culture is treated with Decis or Karbofos.
  4. Pennitsa drooling. In this case, the shoots are covered with foam lumps. Spraying bushes with water and treatment with Intavir or Rovikurt helps to cope with pests.
  5. Rose Sawfly. This pest leads to deformation and drying of the shoots. In such a situation, the culture should be treated with Decis or Chlorophos.

How to propagate the Samba rose

Propagate the Samba rose in vegetative ways:

  1. Cuttings. The procedure is performed at the time of the beginning of the lignification of the branches. Cuttings are harvested from shoots 1-2 centimeters thick. After that, they are buried in loose soil and covered with a film. The plant should be planted in a permanent place for 3 years.
  2. Vaccination. Rosehip is used as a rootstock for the procedure. To do this, you need to make a T-shaped incision on the root neck, place a sleeping bud of the Samba rose in it and fix it with a film.
  3. Division. This method is only suitable for self-rooted plants. It is worth dividing the culture in spring or autumn. To do this, you need to dig it out and cut it with a sharp knife into several parts. Each fragment must have at least 3 shoots.

Application in landscape design

Rosa Samba looks great with conifers. In this case, it is recommended to choose low crops. The combination with hosts looks good. It is also permissible to combine culture with boxwood. Black elderberry or boxwood will be a perfect background for a rose.
