Tomatoes of this variety are versatile in use. They can be eaten both fresh "straight from the bush", and used for whole-fruit pickling. They lie well and are resistant to transportation, retain their marketable appearance and great taste for a long time.

Growing and care

Tomatoes of the determinant type compare favorably with their unpretentiousness and high fertility, regardless of climatic conditions, they are not afraid of either rain or cold. This characteristic of "Katrina" allows you to safely plant seedlings in open ground or in low tunnel-type film greenhouses.

  • Planting scheme in the greenhouse - 40 x 70 cm, in the open field - no more than six bushes per 1 sq. m. When using a drip irrigation system, it is desirable to make the aisles wider.
  • Painful survival after picking, as well as planting seedlings with an open root system, can slow down the ripening mechanism, so fruiting may begin later. Considering this, it is recommended to plant young bushes together with root ball or in peat pots to prevent damage to the root system.
  • This variety does not require the formation of a bush in one stem. In open ground conditions, you can generally do without formation, and in a greenhouse, it would be ideal to form bushes in two or three stems.

  • As they grow and fruit, tomatoes in the greenhouse will need a garter, while in the open field the bushes are more powerful and do not need additional support.
  • Two weeks after planting, it is recommended to hill the plants with moist soil.
  • Water should not be too frequent and plentiful, especially before fruiting. Watering should be done as the soil dries out, and after each time loosening the soil.

Tomatoes "Katrina" fruit amicably, from one bush at a time you can collect a bucket of tomato, so a couple of dozen bushes of such a super tomato may well replace a hundred bushes of ordinary varieties.

This will undoubtedly save space on the site and time for rest, eliminating the exhausting care and struggle for the harvest.
