In the spring, lovers of summer holidays will have to choose a tomato. Red Pearl Tomato is an ideal Cherry variety. The fruits are tasty and the plants have an attractive appearance. This variety is grown not only in the country, but also in the apartment. From each pure variety, tomatoes are unique. What is interesting about the fruits from the Red Pearl?

Variety description

Pearl red - determinate standard hybrid. Variety Features:

  1. Early ripeness - an average of 90 days from planting seedlings to fruiting.
  2. Short stature - about 35 cm high.
  3. Versatility. You can grow in any conditions - from the greenhouse to open ground, even on the balcony.
  4. Resistant to diseases.

Fruit characteristics:

  • shape - round and even;
  • color - bright red;
  • diameter about 3cm, similar to Cherry;
  • two-chamber;
  • 6 % dry matter.

The crop has a short shelf life, so long-term transportation is difficult.

Harvesting perspectives

Red Pearl variety does not have high yields. One bush will not give more than 1.5 kg. Tomatoes with a planting scheme of 4 bushes per 1 sq. m can be obtained up to 6 kg. However, given the size of the plant, not everything is so sad.

Pros and cons

The choice of variety should be carefully considered. Before that, you should weigh the strengths and weaknesses of tomatoes.

Pros:

  • growing anywhere;
  • quick ripening;
  • undemanding to lighting;
  • tolerate temperature changes well;
  • disease resistant.

Flaws:

  • fruits are small in size;
  • low yield.

Tomatoes of this variety have no other shortcomings. And then, these are rather features that arise from unpretentiousness.

Your own tomatoes on the table: growing a variety

No care will be required. The bush does not need to be formed manually, and this saves time. Top dressing is carried out with conventional fertilizers. There are up to 20 tomatoes on one branch.

Branches bend under the weight of the fruit and can break, so it is advisable to use props to prevent damage to the plant. It follows from this that after planting it is enough to wait until flowering begins, then feed the bush a little, and then install spacers for fruit ripening. This is all care technology.

To grow tomatoes on a balcony or in a greenhouse using containers, you need at least 3 liters of soil per bush.

Diseases and insect attacks

Diseases and insects do not climb on the bushes of the Red Pearl. The only thing that can cause concern is the wrong care. Lack of fresh air will kill plants indoors. The same balcony should be ventilated regularly.

The bushes should not experience a lack of moisture either. Lighting is required, albeit in a small amount. If there is no sun at all, you should look for an ultraviolet lamp.

Melon aphid and thrips - these insects can attack tomatoes of this variety. The Zubr medicine will help to cope with them. Medvedki and slugs are standard pests against which banal loosening of the soil will help.

Sprinkling with a homemade preparation will not hurt:

  • bucket with 10 liters of water;
  • spoon of ground pepper, hot or mustard.

Everything is stirred and applied to the bushes. The pests then disappear.
