Apple Tree in Memory of Esaul: description and characteristics of the variety, regions for cultivation
Anonim

Apple variety Pamyat Yesaula has been successfully grown by Russian gardeners for many years. The tree forms fruits above average in size, the tasting qualities of which are rated as high. If you want to plant an early winter species on your site, you should pay attention to the fruit trees of this variety and familiarize yourself with the features of their cultivation.

Variety history

The variety appeared thanks to the long-term work of a group of scientists who conducted experiments on crossing Prima and Kandil Krasnodar apple trees. In 2002, it was entered into the State Register and was recognized as one of the best breeding achievements.Recommended fruit trees for growing in the North Caucasus.

Description and features

Apple trees of this variety belong to the category of undersized, forming a compact crown size. The branches have a directed upward growth, have a brownish-gray tint of the bark. The inflorescences formed in the spring are distinguished by a delicate white-cream color of the petals with characteristic pink streaks.

Judging by the description, the apple tree belongs to the early winter varieties. Formed fruits are above average in size. The peel of the fruit is painted in light green color, which has a smooth surface to the touch. Externally, it creates the effect of wax and the feeling that the fruit has been oiled.

On the sunny side of the fetus, which gets more sunlight, a pinkish blush forms. The color of the fruit does not change during storage and corresponds to that observed at the time of full ripening.

The number of narrow seeds in one chamber can reach 5 pcs. A feature of the variety is the juicy tender pulp of apples, which, during long-term storage, can become sour-sweet. Fruits have a slightly elongated shape, and their average weight reaches 190 g. The variety is actively used for industrial production, including fresh consumption and high quality juices.

Additional characteristics of the variety

Benefits include decent flavor quality, early harvest and ability to adapt to difficult growing conditions. The high commercial qualities of the fruit and the advantages of horticultural crops make it possible to use apple trees for farm-scale production. The advantages include the following points:

  • early fruiting period;
  • possibility of growing in places with close water;
  • large tasty fruits;
  • undemanding variety to growing conditions and care;
  • ability to tolerate lack of moisture and cold temperatures.

On the backyard plot, when planting the Memory Esaula variety, space is saved, due to the compactness and small size of the apple tree. A fruit tree needs pollinating plants, which are best suited for Golden Delicious or Peach species. The plant has a superficial structure of the root system, therefore, it needs timely sufficient watering.

This feature makes it possible to plant in places where groundwater is close to the surface.

Dwarf apple trees that have entered the fruiting stage need additional support. In its absence, the tree under the weight of the fruit can not withstand and break.Untimely picking of apples is fraught with a decrease in yield and quality of fruits, and during storage, the effect of "sunburn" can be observed. Delay in picking dates can lead to massive shedding of fruits.

Tree dimensions

Apple tree can be grown on seed and dwarf rootstock, the height of an adult tree will depend on the chosen method. In the first case, the maximum height is 4 m, in the second - 2.5 m. To preserve the breeding properties, it is important to follow the planting technology. The location of the graft should rise 3-5 cm above ground level, otherwise the tree will lose the quality of stunting.

Garden culture requires timely pruning for proper crown formation. To increase the diameter, young shoots are left, the direction of growth of which is directed outward. Strong branches are left at the bottom, allowing the fruit tree to grow upwards.In order to rejuvenate it, the growths are pruned.

Frequency of fruiting

The branches of the apple tree form ringlets, on which, starting from the age of two, the trees form fruits. In some cases, a small number of apples can form an annual plant. It is important to remove ripe fruits in a timely manner, as they have the ability to shed.

The ripening period of fruits falls on mid-September, readiness for eating comes in a month. The storage period can reach February. The amount of return of the crop depends on the age of the fruit crop:

  • from 4 to 5 years - 80 q/ha;
  • 8 to 9 - 328 q/ha.

The fruiting period of the variety varies from 15 to 20 years. At the same time, yield indicators are comparable to those demonstrated by traditional apple varieties for 30-40 years.

Fruit tasting evaluation

The aroma and taste of an apple is rated on a scale of 5 points at a level of 4.7. The composition of the fruit pulp contains 11.7% sugar, 100 g of fruit contains 12.8 mg of vitamin C.

Frost resistance

The quality of the frost resistance of the variety is rated as high. Horticultural culture is able to withstand conditions of low ambient temperatures.

Disease resistance

Pamyat Yesaul refers to the varieties of apple trees, which were among the first to acquire the ability to resist scab. According to gardeners, the plant copes with fungal diseases and powdery mildew. Most often, the plant is invaded by the codling moth.

Growth regions

Initially, an early winter variety was bred for active cultivation in the territories of the North Caucasus.Plantings in the Krasnodar Territory demonstrate good yields, so Pamyat Yesaul is now considered a promising species for cultivation in the southern regions of Russia.
