There are many better recipes for making strawberry jam without boiling the berries. To make the dish really tasty, you first need to choose the products and prepare the container. Such a fragrant treat is prepared quickly and retains the maximum amount of useful components. In order for the finished dish to be stored for a long time, a number of rules must be observed.

Cooking Features

Preparing jam without cooking is very simple. Sometimes just two ingredients are enough:

  • Before you need to wash the berries thoroughly, remove the stalks.
  • Be sure to sterilize jars and lids.
  • It is important to observe the proportions of all components indicated in the selected recipe.

Benefits of no-boil jam

Strawberry jam, which is cooked without heat treatment, has a number of advantages:

  • During heat treatment, berries lose most of their useful components. Strawberry jam made without cooking will retain the taste, aroma and benefits of a fresh product. Strawberries contain a lot of organic acids, potassium, magnesium, iron and other minerals, as well as vitamins B, C, E, A.
  • It takes little time and effort to prepare the dish.

Ready-made treats can only be stored in the refrigerator.

Collecting and preparing strawberries

Harvest should be in dry weather. For jam without cooking, only ripe, elastic specimens of small size are chosen. It is better if the berries are the same size. There should be no damage, stains or traces of rot on the surface.

Selected fruits must first be thoroughly washed. Cold water is poured into a large container, into which the entire crop is lowered. After a couple of minutes, the berries are thrown into a colander.

The stalks are not removed until the berries are completely peeled. If this is done earlier, the fruits will absorb a lot of water, lose their shape and taste bad.

How to prepare the container?

To store the finished dish, take any convenient jars of different sizes. The main thing is that there are no chips or cracks on the surface of the container. The selected container is washed with soapy water and sterilized.
