Imazamox: instructions for the use of herbicide, consumption rates and analogues

There are a huge variety of agrochemical compounds that help a person grow a good crop. These include fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, and herbicides. They improve the growth and productivity of plants, protect plantings from diseases and pests, and destroy weeds. Each of these products contains one or more active ingredients. The possibilities of imazamox and herbicides based on it will be discussed.

Composition and formulation of the herbicide

Imazamox in its pure form is a cloudy-white crystals, highly soluble in water.Belongs to the chemical class of imidazolinones. Different types of pesticides and herbicides are produced on its basis. Both single-component formulations, in which imazamox is the only active substance, and multi-component agrochemical compounds are used.

There are several forms of the drug used in agriculture: 2.5% suspension concentrate, 3.3% water-soluble concentrate, 4% aqueous solution. All herbicides produced on the basis of imazamox are sold in plastic canisters with a capacity of 5 or 10 liters. The container must contain the trade name of the herbicide, its composition and the manufacturer's recommendations for the use of the product and the rules for working with it.

Spectrum and principle of herbicide action

Imazamox is a post-emergence herbicide. Crops are processed with preparations based on it:

• pea;
• beans;
• corn;
• soy;
• canola.

A year after spraying, any crops can be planted on the treated areas, except for sugar beets. Fields are taken under it 16 months after the use of the herbicide. Then the product will be safe for the consumer.

Imazamox begins to act immediately after application. It penetrates the weed through roots and leaves.

Accumulating at growth points, reduces the production of essential amino acids (leucine, isoleucine, valine) by plants. Stops the synthesis of proteins, nucleic acids, ensuring the rapid death of weeds. It is used against cereal and dicotyledonous pests. After 1-3 weeks, the plant dies.

Instructions for using imazamox

Preparations created on the basis of this compound ("Hermes MD", "Zodiac BP", "Junker BP") have a hazard class 3 for humans and bees (medium toxicity). Spraying of crops is carried out with a working solution, which is prepared before use and is not stored for more than a day.

Processing is carried out in dry, calm, cloudy weather. The herbicide is especially active against young weeds (1-3 leaves). The amount of working solution used per hectare depends on the name of the selected preparation and the manufacturer's recommendations, which should be strictly observed. Do not exceed the dosage and concentration of the crop spray solution.

Precautions

Works on the preparation of the solution and the processing of crops are carried out by personnel who have been instructed and have the appropriate permit. The working solution is prepared at special sites. They are equipped away from residential buildings and outbuildings. Unauthorized people, pets are not allowed on the territory of the site.

All work is done in protective suits. A respirator, goggles and rubber gloves are required. Eating, drinking and smoking during work is prohibited.In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse area with plenty of water. After work, it is necessary to free the sprayer from the remnants of the product and thoroughly rinse all its parts.

Compatibility with other substances

Imazamox-based herbicides can be used in tank mixes with insecticides and pesticides, growth regulator. Not to be used with graminicides.

Important: if the second active ingredient of the selected drug is imazapyr, the tank mixture must have an alkaline or neutral environment. In an acidic environment, imazapyr decomposes and loses its properties.

Terms and conditions of storage

Herbicides are stored in special rooms inaccessible to strangers, children, animals. Keep agrochemicals away from food and pet food. They are kept tightly closed, in their original packaging, indicating the name of the herbicide and the rules for its use.

Do not expose the container to direct sunlight and freeze funds. Some of them do not lose their properties after freezing, this information is contained on the packaging. Usually the shelf life is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
