Many poultry farmers are interested in how to properly breed Enrostin for ducklings. It is advisable to have this drug in a home veterinary kit. Since the medicine helps to cure not only respiratory infections, but also gastrointestinal infections.

Composition and release form of "Enrostina"

Produce the drug in the form of a solution for oral use (the shade of the liquid can vary from saturated yellow to pale yellow, with slight turbidity). The composition of the medicine includes several ingredients:

  • enrofloxacin (basic substance, 100 mg in 1 ml solution);
  • colistin sulfate;
  • sodium metabisulphate;
  • distilled water;
  • lactic acid;
  • benzyl alcohol.

The drug is produced in small doses of 10-200 ml or large (from 500 ml to 1 liter). Dark glass bottles, polymer canisters with plastic screw caps are used as containers.

When is it used?

"Enrostin" belongs to the group of combined antibacterial drugs. The drug has a wide range of antimicrobial properties:

  • enrofloxacin inhibits the development and spread of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria;
  • Colistin sulfate kills Gram-negative bacteria.

The drug is prescribed in case of the following diseases of ducklings: mycoplasmosis, streptococcus, colibacillosis, salmonellosis, necrotic enteritis.

How to dilute and dosage of the remedy

According to the degree of exposure, the drug is considered moderately dangerous, well tolerated by both adult birds and chicks. The medicinal solution is added to the bird's drinking water, while the ducklings are not allowed to drink other liquids.

Standard dosage for treatment - 1 ml of the drug is diluted in a liter of water. Often, veterinarians recommend to solder the drug to chicks for preventive purposes (starting from the 2nd day of life). For these purposes, a less concentrated medicinal solution is prepared (1 ml of Enrostin is diluted in 2 liters of water). The duration of prophylaxis is 5 days.

Side effects and contraindications

"Enrostin" is not compatible with other antibiotics containing calcium, magnesium, aluminum, as these elements reduce its effectiveness. It is also not allowed to additionally solder other antibiotics to the chicks (Theophylline, Tetracycline, Levomycetin) in order to exclude an overdose.

Allergic reactions in poultry (in the form of loss of appetite, diarrhea, impaired coordination of movements) can be caused by individual intolerance to individual elements. In this case, immediately stop treatment. Chicks are prescribed desensitizing therapy to restore he alth.

It is forbidden to solder the drug to ducklings with nervous system disorders, severe kidney or liver disease.

Analogues

Popular analogues of Enrostin: Enronit, Enroflon-K. The drugs also help fight gastrointestinal and respiratory diseases of bacterial etiology. The main active ingredient of analogues is also enrofloxacin. There are no fundamental differences between antibiotics (the differences are in the dosage of the active substance and the set of auxiliary components).
