Herbicide Agrokson: instructions for use and composition, dosage and analogues
Herbicidal weed killers are used by farmers to protect crops. When choosing a remedy, pay attention to the spectrum of its action and terms of application. The instructions for the herbicide "Agroxon" indicate that the drug has a systemic and selective effect on a number of perennial weeds and dicotyledonous annual grasses. To obtain the effect, it is necessary to follow the consumption rates recommended by the manufacturer.
Active ingredient and dosage form
The post-emergence herbicidal preparation "Agrokson" contains the only active ingredient, which ensures its effectiveness in the destruction of weeds - MCPA (dimethylamine s alt).One liter of the chemical agent contains 750 grams of the active substance.
The herbicide comes to the shops in the form of an aqueous solution, which is packaged in 10-liter plastic canisters. Weed control manufacturer is FMC.
Mechanism of action
A post-emergence herbicide is characterized by systemic action, as well as selectivity, therefore it has a negative effect only on weeds and does not harm cultivated plants. After treatment, the active substance of the chemical is absorbed by the stems and leaves of weeds and begins to move through the tissues of the grass. Some time after application, the active component is distributed both in the ground organs and in the root system of plants.
The chemical agent has a detrimental effect on weeds in several ways, which explains its high efficiency.First, there is a violation of protein synthesis and hormonal balance, which ultimately leads to anomalies in the development of weeds. A few days after treatment, the first signs of plant damage become noticeable - the stem thickens, leaf plates curl, and the root system is exposed. Second, uncontrolled cell division causes an imbalance between water balance and normal growth of weeds, resulting in death from starvation.
Provided that there is no second wave of weeds, the herbicidal preparation protects cultivated plants throughout the entire growing season. Since the active substance quickly penetrates into the tissues of the weeds and spreads to all parts, the first signs of damage become noticeable after 2-7 days. The speed of impact also depends on the weather conditions that were observed at the time of processing the field. Completely plants die 2 weeks after spraying.
Action spectrum
The chemical agent "Agrokson" is characterized by a wide spectrum of action and effectively destroys all dicotyledonous annual herbs, as well as some perennials. The instructions for use indicate that the use of the herbicide is allowed in fields with cereals, potatoes, flax, clover and peas.
The list of benefits of the tool includes the following points:
- highly effective against a wide range of weeds;
- possibility of use in fields with different cultivated plants;
- lack of volatility and, as a result, safety for neighboring landings;
- possibility of use in tank mixes with other chemicals;
- speed of action;
- lack of phytotoxicity subject to drug consumption and resistance rates;
- possibility of a single application throughout the season to get the result.
Instructions for the use of the drug "Agrokson"
Before preparing a working solution for processing the field, it is worth studying the consumption rates of the drug for different plants, which are indicated in the table:
Cultivated plant | Herbicide consumption | When to apply |
Millet | From 500 ml to 1 liter per hectare of fieldTreatment is carried out between the tillering of the crop and its release into the tube
From 600 ml to 1 liter per hectare of plantings | Processed in early spring, at the time the plant goes into the tube
From 600 to 1 liter per hectare of field | Spraying before crop emergence
750 to 1 liter per hectare | Treatment is carried out when the plant has 1-2 trifoliate leaves
500 ml per hectare fields | Spraying is done at the stage of appearance of 3-5 true leaves
600ml n and a hectare of crops | Crops are processed when their height reaches from 3 to 10 cm |
To prepare the working fluid, soft water is used, since too hard water reduces the effectiveness of the active substance. Half of the water norm is poured into the sprayer tank and the specified amount of herbicide is applied. Turn on the stirrer and wait for complete dissolution of the chemical. After that, add water to the full volume of the tank and mix thoroughly again.
Spraying weeds is recommended at an air temperature of 10 to 25 degrees Celsius. It is not recommended to treat weeds if they have drops of dew on them or rain is expected that day, moisture prevents the penetration of the active ingredient into weed tissues.
It is also forbidden to carry out work at temperatures above 25 degrees, this negatively affects the grain, damaging the ear. In addition, do not use the drug for plants under stress and disease-weakened crops.
Precautions
When working with a chemical agent, they adhere to elementary safety requirements - they use protective clothing and footwear, as well as a respirator to prevent the chemical from entering the respiratory tract. At the end of the treatment, wash all the tools and take a shower. If the working solution gets on the skin, wash off with plenty of water.
Compatible with what?
Herbicide is allowed to be used in tank mixes with most chemicals. It is especially well combined with drugs from the group of sulfonylurea. Test for compatibility beforehand.
How to store properly
Keep the chemical away from children and pets, in a dark utility room where the temperature does not exceed 27 degrees.
What can replace
Replace the herbicide "Agrokson" can be such drugs as "Gerbitoks" or "Dikopur".
