How to get rid of bees: how to destroy or drive away yourself, the best means

Stinging insects can be a serious threat to people living in the house and pets. Most often, wasps pose a threat, but both wild and domestic bees can settle in residential and non-residential premises. In the event that they cause discomfort or pose a threat to the he alth and safety of the inhabitants, you will have to figure out how to effectively get rid of bees in the house.

What means are used to fight bees

Before you start fighting bees, you should think about whether it is necessary to do it.These insects are an important part of the ecosystem. They are pollinators, without which nature cannot cope with the formation of a significant part of the crop, and people will not receive delicious honey and other healing products. If “peaceful methods” fail to cope, you need to start fighting them in accordance with all the rules.

It is better to fight wild bees in early spring. There are still few of them, and they are less dangerous to people. Domestics are best driven out at the end of winter, when they are weakened by cold and a long period of inactivity. Various methods can be used to kill dangerous insects.

Chemicals

It is worth using pesticides if the house and its inhabitants are threatened by wild or African honey bees, which are characterized by increased aggression. It is possible to poison ordinary, domestic honey bees only as a last resort, if you cannot find a beekeeper who will lure the swarm, or if you can attract a special service. In a critical situation, when insects can bite children or adults, they will have to be poisoned with a suitable poison.

Most often, Dichlorvos aerosol is used for this purpose. This is a radical and effective remedy that quickly kills insects. But before spraying crowded places, you need to take protective measures. Attacking a person in large numbers, insects can cause serious harm to he alth, and sometimes cause death. To prevent dangerous consequences, protective actions must be taken. To do this, use special clothes with long sleeves and trousers, a mesh to cover the face, a headdress, gloves.

When spraying poison, you need to make sure that it does not get into the eyes, respiratory tract, skin and mucous membranes, and after use, you need to change clothes, take a shower and wash your hands and face with soap.

Traps

In order to survive the bees from the attic, you can use special traps. They are cheap and are sold in grocery stores. To enhance the “attractiveness” of traps, you can use tasty substances for them, such as sweets or beer. Traps should be placed near the nest.

When a lot of insects accumulate in them, they can simply be taken away from the house and released, and the empty nest destroyed. This method is suitable if you want to keep valuable honey bees away from your home.

Repellers

If bees fly in from neighboring areas or apiaries, they can be scared away with the help of special devices - scarers. They work on the principle of a fumigator connected to the network, only they emit not a repellent substance, but ultrasound. Similar devices are used to control rodents and moles. However, the effectiveness of such repellers in relation to bees has not been proven, and the devices themselves are quite expensive, especially if they are intended for outdoor use.

Folk methods

The following methods are used to fight bees:

  1. Sulfur wick. Such a device is used by coopers to disinfect the kidneys. The wick emits sulfur dioxide when burned, which poisons insects. They die, and the survivors leave the site.
  2. Smoke. This is an old way of scaring away, which has been used since time immemorial. It is also used by beekeepers, fumigating the smoke of bees so that they can remove frames with honey or do any other manipulations with the hive. You can drive them away with the help of fire smoke or use the smoker used by beekeepers.
  3. Traps with drinks that attract insects. They can be made from any bottles and containers. The top is cut off and placed in the lower part in the form of a funnel. Some beer, vinegar or juice, sweet water are poured down. Traps are placed in places where insects are the most. Insects make their way to the bait along the neck of the "funnel" down, and can no longer get back.
  4. Recordings of birds singing. Bees are afraid of loud noises and birds, some of which prey on them, such as bee-eaters. If you put records in places of accumulation, you can get rid of them without the need for destruction.

You can also use gasoline, which is poured into the nest. But you need to do this carefully, protecting yourself first, and considering that this is a dangerous flammable liquid.

How to get rid of bees yourself

It is worth fighting bees on your own if there are few insects or there is a strong confidence in the ability to cope with the situation without much risk.

Fighting wild bees

If the bees have not settled in the house or in the outbuildings and do not threaten the he alth of the inhabitants in any way, it is better not to touch them. If the swarm nests far in the garden or in the far corner of the plot, then you can simply place traps around the house so that individual insects do not interfere with a calm, peaceful life. In that de case, if there are a lot of bees, and they have already managed to bite someone, there is nothing left but to drive them away from the site.

For this, the place of accumulation and nesting of insects must be doused with any caustic substance. This must be done in a protective suit, observing all safety precautions. An empty nest should be burned immediately or taken away from human habitation.

Neighbor bees

To get rid of the neighbor's bees will not be radically possible, especially if he does not keep the distance for placing the apiary from the borders with someone else's property. You need to complain about the negligent beekeeper to the relevant authorities, but for now try to drive away his bees using available methods.

To do this, the site is planted with plants, the smell of which insects do not like. These are lemon balm, mint, lavender, wormwood, lovage, as well as calendula, hellebore (very poisonous!), Henbane (very poisonous!), rhododendrons and hot peppers. With the help of plants, you can not only drive away dangerous stinging insects, but also give the site a stylish and spectacular look.

You can also distract the bees from the part of the estate adjacent to the residential building. To do this, sugar is diluted in containers with water and placed in the corner farthest from the house. The disadvantage of this method is that the sugar water will have to be constantly renewed.

Earth

In the case of earthen bees, you can do the following: in the evening, pour at least 5 liters of boiling water into the mink. It is not worth saving water, as live insects may remain in the nest.

Also, you can simply dig minks, if they are not located too deep underground, use chemicals. Smoke should be applied before processing - this protection will prevent insects from attacking and make them lethargic.

How to destroy bees in a hive

In the event that there was no beekeeper who could remove the swarm from the site, or the bees firmly settled in the house in an inaccessible place, they will have to be destroyed. On the street, the nest can be doused with flammable liquid and burned.

If the bees settled in the hive, it is necessary to prepare poison for them, pour it into a plastic bag, which is put on the hive, tightly tied and left to act. Then the package with the hive is destroyed. You can also use gasoline, kerosene, bleach, and other chemicals to do this.
