Characteristics of the brandy pink tomato variety

Brandy pink variety is intended for indoor cultivation for the middle climatic zone. In the southern regions, it also grows in the open air.

This is how its main characteristics look:

  • early-ripening variety with a ripening period of 85-100 days and a phased ripening period of tomatoes at different levels;
  • medium plant up to 1.5-1.8 meters tall, with indeterminate stem type;
  • medium branching, potato type leaf, pubescent, smooth, green;
  • the variety forms inflorescences above the level of 9-12 leaves;
  • ripening step by step, as the tomatoes ripen on brushes of different levels;
  • fruits are flat-round, with slight ribbing at the base. The weight is impressive, from 250 to 450 grams;
  • pulp is very soft, juicy, multi-chamber with few seeds;
  • skin is smooth, thin, pale pink;
  • tomato flavor is just great, sweet, reminiscent of watermelon;
  • use tomatoes as a salad dressing and preparation of semi-finished tomato products: juices, pastes, ketchups.

Varieties with unlimited growth have their advantages and disadvantages. They must be tied up and a number of activities are carried out to form a bush. At the same time, such tomatoes give a larger harvest, which is distinguished by the gradual ripening of fruits.

With a lack of moisture, the fast ripening of the set fruits begins. Under stress, the plant tries to reproduce the seeds faster and get rid of the reproductive parts that draw nutrients onto themselves. The plant massively sheds flowers and formed ovaries.

Features of cultivation and care

Rules of care are quite standard. Here is a summary of the basic care for plants with unlimited growth.

  1. Tomatoes are heat-loving plants and in most cases are grown in seedlings. With short growing seasons, seeds are sown for seedlings in mid-March.
  2. Seedlings dive with the appearance of 2 permanent leaves in separate containers or in boxes, with a planting pattern of 10x10 cm.
  3. Care comes down to timely watering, fertilizing and observing temperature and light conditions. All these measures will allow you to grow strong and he althy seedlings suitable for early planting in the greenhouse.
  4. Tomatoes are planted in a permanent place in mid-May, at 60 days of age. Planting density is not more than 3 bushes per square meter. Plants are tied to stakes, trellises or garden netting to provide support for the main stem.
  5. In large-fruited tall tomatoes, the plant is formed into one stem. Stepchildren and dying leaves are removed on the lower part of the plant, up to the first brush. This promotes increased air circulation, preventing the possibility of fungal diseases.
  6. After the formation of 6-8 brushes, they limit the growth of the bush, cutting the shoot at the top point, three leaves above the ovary. The stepchildren growing from the axils of the leaves are regularly removed, leaving a stump of 3-4 cm.
  7. Watering should be moderate, followed by loosening the top layer. Loosening prevents the soil from drying out and improves air exchange. The stem is sprinkled with earth to improve the nutrition of the roots located at the base.
  8. The optimum temperature should be 24-26 degrees. Humidity is desirable to maintain no higher than 70%. This is achieved by regular ventilation. The humidity indicator is important to observe during the period of mass flowering.
  9. Tomatoes are fed every three weeks, choosing the composition of the fertilizer depending on the condition of the plants and the stage of development.

Harvesting begins at the end of July and continues until the end of the growing season. Up to 5-6 kg of tomatoes are harvested from one plant. Green fruits ripen well at home.
