Nothing distinguishes Minusinsk tomatoes from other varieties like impressive size. The appearance of tomatoes is so diverse that vegetables collected from different bushes under one common name do not have any characteristic features that would attribute them to fruits of the same type. There are varieties of tomatoes that are similar in shape to hearts or sweet pepper pods, there are - with pronounced sourness and honey, loose at the break and dense.

Description of Minusinsk varieties

All Minusinsk tomatoes belong to the mid-season, indeterminate type, have a bush that forms in 1-2 stems (the second stem is the stepson) and, subject to agrotechnical conditions, yield from 4 to 6 kg per bush. Despite the amazing length of the stem, sometimes reaching 2.5 meters, the plant is extremely unstable and without a garter will go into a break even when the first brushes are formed.

Apple Minusinsky

Tomatoes of this variety, in comparison with other brainchildren from the Minusinsk breeders, please with a small size (up to 500 g in total) and a neat rounded shape, slightly flattened at the stem. The color during the period of maximum maturity is red-pink, the skin is thin, the vegetable on the break exposes loose sugar pulp; the taste is sweet, without sourness.

Apple tomato (sleepy) and the growth of the stem is slightly lower than other Minusinsk - only up to 180 cm, but just like the others, it needs a garter and removal of extra stepchildren. One stepchild, grown under the lowest fruiting brush, is left to form a second stem, which is then tied up separately.

Apple fruits are consumed fresh, as additions to first and second courses, for making juices and canned sauces (salads).

Musinsk glasses

For cultivation in the open field, these tomatoes, similar to glasses: pink, bright red and orange-pink (resembling Ruslan tomatoes in their unripe form), are not suitable for the middle and northern strip, therefore, these tomatoes are conditionally referred to greenhouse. The length of the stem of the plant reaches 250 cm, and the fruit-cups are surprisingly small, given the characteristics of the Minusinsk in general - 300 g or less.

The pinching of this type of Minusinsk tomatoes is carried out in full, and the bush itself is formed into one stem. Due to the relatively small size of the plant, it is allowed to plant 4 seedlings per 1 m2, while the promised yield of 3.5-4 kg per bush does not suffer.

The long fruit is not prone to cracking, the peel is quite dense, therefore it is suitable for preservation as a whole. However, due to the high sugar content, most often the tomato is eaten fresh or used in the preparation of various dishes.

In terms of external and taste characteristics, tomatoes of this type are confused with the Minusinsk bulls variety, but the latter is somewhat different in the shape of the tomatoes, or rather, in the “blunt” nose. Otherwise, the growing conditions and methods of using vegetables are absolutely identical.

Giant Minusinsky

The Minusinsk giant is capable of producing vegetables weighing up to 1.5 kg, or it can give a scattering of relatively small 300-gram tomatoes - it all depends on the growing conditions and personal preferences of the gardener.

Since the stem of the plant is very high - from 2 m and above, tying and pinching are required, but for the best result, topping is also recommended.

To obtain heavy, giant fruits, a long bush is formed into one main stem, all stepchildren are removed immediately after the appearance, and the number of fruits on the bush is regulated by the required amount.For a standard yield with tomatoes weighing up to 700 g, you can leave the lower stepson to form a second stem. On 1 m2 it is allowed to plant from 2 to 3 seedlings.

Giant tomatoes are bright red in color, shaped like hearts, and the smaller the size, the brighter the “heart” is expressed. The taste of the fruit is very sweet, sugary.

Burlak Early Ripe

Burlak Minusinsky, the only early ripe variety from the entire breeding collection of the presented series. The leaves of the plant resemble potato leaves, the length of the main stem reaches 180 cm. Tomato Burlak gives the best yield results when compiled in two stems.

The fruits of the variety are rather flat than rounded, the maximum weight of a fruit unit is about 500 g. The pulp is very sweet, with a well-defined granularity.

Musinsk tomatoes

The Minusinsky tomato is the forerunner of all other varieties of this variety, therefore its characteristics are taken as reference for breeding derivative varieties. The initial description of the variety provides information that the ancient Minusinsk bears fruit with tomatoes weighing over 2 kg, but now, when compiling a bush into one stem, removing stepchildren and other tricks of modern gardeners, only individual fruit units reach 1 kg and a little more.

When ripe, the pink fruit acquires a rich crimson hue and a sweet taste. Slightly unripe tomatoes have a slight acidity and are also suitable for cooking and preservation.

Minusinsk balls

Minusinsk balls, in terms of the size of their bright, red-pink fruits, look like real dwarfs - only about 200 g, and the yield of a bush, compared to other Minusinsk ones, is considered average - within 3-3.5 kg, and this - with double stem formation!

The fruits are very dense, with a lot of juice, sweet, but they are intolerant to high soil moisture - they immediately begin to crack and quickly lose their presentation.

Harvest Minusinsky

Minusinsky Harvest variety is one of the most fertile, capable of producing 6 kg or more per bush, with a relatively small size of the plant as a whole. Fruits of a standard type - 200-250 g are obtained when making a bush in two stems, larger tomatoes - up to 400 g, grow on a single-stem bush.

The fruit at the break has no granularity, the core is dense, juicy, moderately sweet, rich red. The fruits are used in all kinds of culinary recipes and are especially good for preservation.

For all types of this assortment are required: pinching, pinching, mulching and timely top dressing. The scheme of watering seedlings is the same for all large-fruited fruits, but hardening of seedlings before planting in the ground cannot be avoided - Minusinsk varieties are very susceptible to a sharp change in temperature conditions.
