Description

Mid-season semi-determinant variety. It takes 118-120 days from the emergence of shoots to the beginning of fruiting. The height of tomato bushes growing in open ground is 1 m, in a greenhouse - 1.5 m. Flat-round fruits are painted in dark brown. The skin is thin and shiny. The pulp is fleshy and sweet. The heart color of Creme Brulee is orange-brown with green veins. When performing agricultural technology, the weight of fruits is 200-400 g.

Tomatoes are intended for cultivation in the open and closed ground. Due to their large size and short shelf life, the fruits are recommended for fresh consumption and for making tomato juices.

Features of cultivation and care

Crème Brulee tomato variety requires the same conditions as all other tomato varieties. The first step in growing a vegetable is sowing. The optimal time for planting is the end of March-beginning of April. Seeds are placed in prepared grooves, the depth of which is 2-3 cm, and sprinkled on top with a moist substrate. The container covered with polyethylene is placed in a warm, bright place and ventilated from time to time. As soon as sprouts break through to the surface, the shelter is gradually removed.

In order for the plant to actively develop in the future and set the largest possible fruits, care should consist of simple manipulations.

  • Water. Tomatoes like to grow in slightly moist soil. Therefore, it is not worth allowing strong drying or waterlogging of the soil. In dry weather, mid-season bushes are watered once a week in the afternoon. To improve aeration and water permeability, after watering or heavy rain, the soil is gently loosened.
  • Picking. If the germination of seeds turned out to be high and young plants do not have enough free space, after throwing out 2-3 true leaves, they are planted in separate pots. Seedlings are planted in a permanent place at the age of 50-55 days, after making sure that there is no risk of return frosts.
  • Garter. Since the description contains information about the high height of the bushes, they must be tied up. As soon as the seedlings take root in a new place, thin wooden pegs or rods are driven in at a distance of 10 cm from the plant, and then the stem is tied to the support with elastic bands.
  • Feeding.During the growing season, under the Creme Brule tomato variety, fertilizers are applied 3 times. As nutrient mixtures, mineral fertilizers are used, which contain less nitrogen than phosphorus and potassium, as well as organic solutions. To improve the effect of root dressing, the procedure is carried out in conjunction with spraying with boric acid (1 g of the substance per 1 liter of water).

Reviews

As you know, in practice, plants of this variety may differ slightly from the declared description. Gardeners who have grown lettuce varieties note unusual coloring, rich moderately sweet tomato flavor and high yields. At the same time, vegetable lovers saw shortcomings in the variety: poor resistance to diseases, as well as unsized fruits. On the upper brushes, fruits weighing more than 400 g are formed, on the lower ones - 150 g.
