One of the best Central Asian varieties of vegetable crops is the Vostok tomato. The plant was obtained in 1977 by the Uzbek breeders of the research institute for fruit and vegetable growing. In 2015, the variety was included in the State Register for cultivation in different regions of the Russian Federation. As practice has shown, the Vostok variety tomato has proven itself well in personal subsidiary farms, both when grown indoors and outdoors.

Variety description

The Vostok variety is one of the top ten tomato crops in Russia in terms of its qualities. The vegetable crop received such a merit for its early maturity and high yield, which is about 1.5 times higher than its predecessors.

The vegetative period from seed germination to the final fruit ripening period is 100-110 days. The yield of the variety can reach more than 6 kg. from one bush.

General description of variety:

  1. The bush is compact, with a weak main stem.
  2. Leafless plant.
  3. The leaves are long, with an uneven surface, dark green.
  4. The height of the plant in greenhouse conditions reaches about 1 m, in open ground - 60-70 cm.
  5. Bookmark flower brushes, every 1-2 sheets.
  6. Up to 12 ovaries are formed on the bush.

Tomato is characterized by friendly fruit setting and ripening, even under adverse weather conditions.

Fruit characteristics

Tomato Vostok f1 universal purpose. Its fruits are well used fresh, processed and harvested for the winter.

  • shape - flat-round;
  • skin - thick, ribbed;
  • color - bright red;
  • pulp - fleshy, loose;
  • seed content - large quantity;
  • taste - spicy, sweetish.

Vostok tomatoes are endowed with high resistance to high humidity and drought. They have a good long shelf life and ripen perfectly when removed from the bush at home.

Despite the fact that the Vostok vegetable crop is an unpretentious plant, it is still necessary to follow several rules of agricultural technology when growing it.

Description of growing tomato Vostok f1:

  1. Seeds for seedlings are sown in wooden boxes in mid-March.
  2. When 2-3 true leaves are formed on the seedlings, a pick is carried out.
  3. At the end of April, seedlings are planted in greenhouses, transplantation into open ground takes place at the end of May, beginning of June.
  4. Before planting, the soil is treated with bleach.
  5. Seedlings are planted according to the scheme 60x70 cm.
  6. Before planting seedlings, it is recommended to fill the hole with straw and compost.
  7. When planting, seedlings do not deepen, only their roots are buried.

At the end of the work, the bushes are tied to a support and watered with warm water.

As you can see, the Vostok variety does not need special care. Observing only the correct planting technology and standard care, which consists in watering, weeding and pinching, each gardener will receive a decent harvest of tasty and nutritious tomatoes.
