Rovral fungicide: instructions for use, composition and form of release, analogues
Rovral is a modern contact fungicide used both in large greenhouses and farms, and in household plots. The effectiveness of the drug depends on the correct use, compliance with safety precautions and storage. Below we will consider not only the composition, mechanism of action, advantages and disadvantages, but also the instructions for using the Rovral fungicide, its compatibility with other drugs.
Composition, form of release and purpose of the drug Rovral
The main active ingredient of this drug is iprodione. Its content is 50% (500 grams of active ingredient / kilogram of fungicide weight).Rovral is produced in the form of a wettable beige powder with a slight odor. A standard pesticide package weighs 1 kilogram.
Rovral is used to combat diseases of sunflower, cucumbers and tomatoes in protected ground, such as seedling rot, phomopsis.
Fungicide mechanism of action
Applied to parts of plants affected by fungal diseases, the pesticide has a two-level mechanism of action:
- The active substance of the drug reduces the germination rate of pathogen spores.
- Pesticide produces blockage of mycelium development.
Due to this mechanism of action, Rovral, when used correctly, causes weakening and then complete death of the pathogen.
Advantages and disadvantages
Rovral benefits include:
- High efficiency.
- Low toxicity to humans, beneficial insects, fish, birds, soil microflora.
- Compatible with most modern pesticides.
- Two-level mechanism of action.
- No cases of drug resistance in pathogens.
Among the shortcomings of this fungicide, a fairly large package containing 1 kilogram of wettable powder should be singled out. This amount of pesticide is quickly consumed in large greenhouses and farms.
On household plots, only a small part of the open package is used, the rest is kept open for a short time.
Consumption rates
The consumption rate of Rovral's working solution depends on how it is used:
- Disinfection of holes before planting seedlings - 500 milliliters/hole.
- Watering vegetative plants under the root - 150 milliliters/plant.
- Seed dressing - 10 milligrams/kg seeds.
When smearing stems affected by rot, a mixture of dry powder with lime materials (chalk or lime) is used in equal proportions.
How to prepare a working solution
Rovral's working solution is prepared as follows:
- Pour water into a clean and dry container, the volume of which should be equal to or slightly less than half of the amount of working solution required for processing.
- The amount of fungicide previously weighed on electronic scales is poured into the water. To prepare a standard 0.1% solution, 1.0 grams of the drug is poured into 1 liter of water.
- The powder is stirred with a wide wooden stick until completely dissolved.
- The container is filled with water to the volume of the working solution required for processing.
The made solution is used on the day of preparation. Unused residues are drained and disposed of in accordance with special instructions.
Instructions for using Rovral fungicide
Fungicide is used for pre-sowing dressing of sunflower seeds, disinfection of planting holes, preventive treatments of cucumber and tomato stalks affected by rot and fomopsis.
The consumption rate of the working fluid and the rules for preparing the working solution are described above.
Safety when using the drug
When using the drug, it is mandatory to use respiratory and eye protection equipment - respirators, goggles. When smearing rot on the stems, the skin of the hands is protected with latex household gloves.
While working with the drug, it is forbidden to smoke, drink water from open containers. Processing of plants must be carried out in dry calm weather, with a maximum air temperature not higher than +21 С.
Toxicity
The drug belongs to the III class of toxicity, being a low-hazard substance for warm-blooded animals, humans, fish, birds.
Compatibility with other products
Fungicide is compatible with most modern fungicides, insecticides, except for aggressive strongly alkaline and highly acidic preparations.
Fungicide storage rules
Store the fungicide in a dark and dry place out of the reach of small children and pets. Optimum storage temperature: +5… +25 С. Shelf life in unopened containers is at least 24 months.
Are there any analogues?
The only analogue of this fungicide is Rovral FLO, produced as a suspension concentrate and used on sunflower, lupine, grape plantations to combat rot, phomopsis and diseases such as oidium.
