Features of keeping such birds

Broilers require the same care as other breeds. They are suitable for keeping in cages and open coops. Birds need to be kept in optimal conditions:

  • nests for laying eggs for laying hens;
  • specialized nutrition for broilers enriched with protein and calcium;
  • insulated room protected from draft;
  • rodent protection recommended;
  • cleaning every 2 days;
  • disinfection done once a year or more;
  • monitor the temperature regime, in summer it should be 20-25 °С, in winter not lower than 5 °С;
  • in the place where chickens are kept, there should be free access to drinkers and feeders.

In addition to general care measures, it is advisable to inspect birds for ticks and diseases. Also check the coop for ticks. In spring and summer, pest control is recommended.

Rodent traps should be set up so they don't disturb chicken nests and destroy eggs.

Productivity

Weight gain and egg production are directly related to the quality of nutrition and care. The better the food, the greater the weight gain. For broilers, this is an important indicator. Many breeds gain up to 3 kg by the 4-5th month of life. This is a good indicator of meat. Once a chick reaches 2.5 kg, it can be slaughtered.

If you leave it until adulthood, then the quality of the meat is slightly reduced. It gets tougher. However, when cooked properly, it is no different from a young chicken.

The number of eggs is affected by bird care. It is better to protect laying hens from unnecessary stress, in which case egg production is greatly reduced. It is also necessary to conduct a preventive examination for ticks and diseases. A sick bird lays fewer eggs.For laying hens leave the same food as for meat individuals. But you can add more vegetables to your diet.

Important! Broiler chickens are easy to care for, they can be grown by novice farmers.

What do they eat?

Feeding broilers is the basis of their successful rearing. Most often, farmers and manufacturers buy specialized feed for broilers. They are enriched with useful minerals, are balanced, contain some medicinal substances. They contribute to the prevention of many diseases.

If there is no desire to buy ready-made food, then they are made on their own. To do this, you will need the following components:

It is recommended to prepare food before each feeding. It must be fresh so as not to cause he alth problems.

Caring for colored broilers
