Temperature for broilers: table of optimal indicators for keeping

Broilers are chickens that bring a lot of meat. Broiler meat is tender, suitable for preparing hearty meals, as well as for proper nutrition. Growing chickens, it is necessary to take care not only that the birds eat properly, but also about the microclimate conditions. The main characteristic of the microclimate is the temperature at which living creatures are kept. Below you can find a table of optimal temperatures for broilers.

What affects the temperature when growing broilers

Newborn chicks need to get enough warmth from the first day of their life.A weakened immune system turns any external factors into a threat. A small amount of heat can provoke the occurrence of diseases, death. Heat dependence persists even in adult chickens.

Today, farming is undergoing significant changes. The use of incubators and brooders allows you to skip the procedure for hatching eggs by laying hens. In addition, it is no longer necessary to raise chickens next to the mother.

In general, laying hens should be kept separate from young.

The main purpose for which broilers are grown is getting meat. The farmer needs to create all conditions for this. In view of this, the laying eggs are incubated and then the born chicks are raised in a brooder. The development of broilers and their immunity depend on the microclimate in the chicken coop. Therefore, the farmer needs to pay special attention to the conditions of poultry keeping, namely the temperature in the poultry house.

Optimal chicken coop temperatures

Optimal temperature settings for young and adult chickens will be different. Below are tables with relevant parameters.

For growing youngsters

Heat control

In newborn chickens, the mechanism of thermoregulation does not work, since their body has not yet developed. Their muscle mass is still too small for the body to receive enough heat when moving. Therefore, to regulate the heating in the chicken coop, household floor heaters or infrared lamps are used.

Make sure the chicks don't stray too far from the heater.

Brooding is best. A brooder is a box, the microclimate and the level of illumination of which can be adjusted. It is also necessary to monitor the level of humidity. It should be 60-70 percent. Don't forget to actively ventilate the chicken coop and ensure adequate lighting levels.

Other growing conditions

It's not just temperature that matters when growing broilers. You must adhere to the following recommendations:

  1. When introducing new foods to the diet, be careful when giving boiled potatoes to young animals. Large quantities of this product can cause intestinal problems in chickens, including volvulus and death. The diet of adult broilers should be dominated by mash and concentrated feed. Add juicy food to the diet towards the end of fattening.
  2. Watch the breath of the birds. If it is interrupted, then the air in the coop is too humid. You need to improve ventilation. If the chicks do not move much and lie on their feet for a long time, then they are deficient in vitamin D. If their plumage is no longer shiny and brittle, this indicates excessive dryness in the house.
  3. To prevent intestinal problems in chickens, add potassium permanganate to their drink once every 2 days. Remember to mix the solution thoroughly.Drinkers and feeders should be cleaned with sodium bicarbonate. Wash water bowls and feeders after each supply of water and feed.
  4. The floor in the house must be clean and insulated. You can cover it with straw bedding laid on a thin layer of slaked lime. Make sure that the straw does not start to decompose, replace it in a timely manner.

If you provide your broilers with optimal conditions, you will have no problem raising he althy chickens that will bring you a lot of meat. Breeding broilers is quite simple, so there should be no problems even for novice farmers who have only recently started raising birds.
