Euroland herbicide: instructions for use, mechanism of action and consumption rates
Special crop-specific herbicides are produced to eliminate resistant weeds. These drugs include Euro-Land, a systemic herbicide developed for sunflower crops. When choosing this herbicide, it is important to consider that sunflower hybrids must be resistant to imidazolinones in order not to harm the protected crop.
Composition and formulation of Euro-Land herbicide
The drug is produced as a concentrate, soluble in water. Packaging - canisters 5 liters.
Herbicidal action provides a two-component composition - imazapyr (15 grams per liter) and imazamox (33 grams per liter). Both substances belong to the class of imidazolinones.
Mechanism of action
The drug has a pronounced penetrating ability - it is absorbed by the ground part and absorbed by the root system from the ground. Herbicide demonstrates both types of action - soil and systemic.
Getting inside, Euro-Land enters all tissues through the conducting system and stops the production of amino acids. In weeds, the ability to divide cells is lost, growth points are suppressed. Young sprouts are most sensitive to the action of the herbicide, in which the division processes stop after a few hours.
Imazapyr, remaining in the soil, also keeps the development of new weeds from seeds. You can detect the effect of the herbicide by twisted, yellowed and deformed tops of weeds with signs of chlorosis.In the future, the weed shrinks, dries out, dies. Weeds disappear 2-8 weeks after herbicide application.
Action spectrum
The preparation is designed to protect sunflower hybrids, which are not affected by substances of the imidazolinone group.
Euro-Land is active against the main weeds of crops - cereals and dicotyledonous plants.
Pros of using
Herbicide has a number of benefits:
- the presence of both types of penetration into weeds - absorbed by the roots and enters through the ground part;
- effective against many sunflower broomrape species;
- herbicide has a long period of activity - being in the soil, it does not allow new generations of weeds to germinate.
The drug does not have a negative effect on the sunflower itself, no traces of the herbicide are found in the fruits.
Consumption rates
The recommended application rate for various sunflower hybrids is 1-1.2 liters of Euro-Land per hectare of crops. When using water with a small amount of magnesium and calcium carbonates (soft) to dilute the herbicide, choose the lower limit of the norm - 1 liter.
The working solution is prepared in a volume of 200-300 liters per hectare, depending on the infestation of crops and external conditions.
How to prepare a working solution?
Spray mixture is made up at special sites away from the field. The capacity of the sprayer is filled with water by half, while the hydraulic mixer is running, the drug is poured. Wait for complete mixing and supplement with the remaining liquid (in accordance with the norm).
The solution is not subject to storage, it is used completely during the day.
How to apply ready mix?
Euro-Land spray basic rules:
- The most effective processing of sunflower at the stage of 2-4 leaves (no more than 8).
- Weeds should be at the initial stages of vegetation - seedlings with 2-4 leaves, young, not coarsened growth.
- It is important to choose the right weather conditions - the temperature is 10-22 °.
- Low and high temperatures reduce the absorption efficiency of the substance by weeds due to inhibition of metabolic processes.
- Spraying is carried out only by ground means.
If crops are dominated by weeds of a certain type, the recommendations for spraying timing are as follows:
- thistle thistle - after the formation of the rosette;
- cereal species - with 1-3 sheets;
- bipartite - no later than 4 sheets;
- on ambrosia - up to 2 sheets.
The use of Euro-Land imposes restrictions on the possibility of growing subsequent crops in the fields (crop rotation). Recommended terms for the use of areas for different crops:
- 4 months - rye, winter wheat;
- 9 months - barley, spring rye and wheat, corn, legumes, soybeans, lupins;
- 19 months - sunflower, vegetables, sorghum, rice, potatoes;
- 26 months - rapeseed, beets.
These terms are maintained in order to save crops from the toxic effects of undecomposed components of active substances from the soil.
Important: for any result of processing, re-spraying is not carried out. Apply Euro-Land 1 time per season.
Safety rules at work
All work with the herbicide (breeding, spraying) is carried out in personal protective equipment. Dispose of the solution in the prescribed manner, clothing carefully treated.
After working with the herbicide, wash with liquid products. With signs of poisoning, sorbents are taken, if necessary, the stomach is washed.
Herbicide toxicity
The drug belongs to class 3 low-hazard substances for humans and bees.
Compatibility with other drugs
Manufacturer recommends when using Euro-Land:
- Do not combine in the working solution with other herbicidal substances, including anticereals, organophosphorus.
- Do not make complex mixtures, including fertilizers, growth enhancers, fertilizers.
- Do not use inhibitors before and after drug treatment
- Apply Euro-Land not earlier than 14 days after continuous herbicides.
Also, after spraying the product, the use of organophosphate preparations is prohibited throughout the season.
Expiration date and storage conditions
The drug is stored in special warehouses for chemicals. In unopened packaging, the product is stored for 3 years under the recommended conditions.

- Euro Lightning;
- Agro-Light;
- Eurochance;
- Imquant Super;
- Captor;
- Sauteira .
Euro-Lightning Plus - contains the same active ingredients in slightly modified concentrations.
The combination of imidazolinones shows high herbicidal properties.
The drugs are popular with sunflower growers.
Euro-Land is a reliable and proven tool for combating weed infestation in sunflower crops. Its action lasts for a long time, thanks to the preservation of the substance in the soil, the drug does not allow a new wave of weeds to develop, protects the crop throughout the season.
