The subtleties of making homemade wine from rose grapes

There are a few tricks that distillers should be aware of:

  1. We are talking about sweet varieties, then you do not have to add a lot of sugar to get a delicious drink.
  2. In the process of creating alcohol, it is better to use spring or bottled clean water, you can pass it through a filter, let it settle.
  3. It is better not to mix several varieties, use one, but if you decide to create an assortment, then consider the characteristics of the berries.

Best varieties

The following varieties are suitable for creating alcoholic beverages:

  • Pink Isabella - like a fruit, it is not eaten, but it is also used to create drinks on an industrial scale;
  • Taifi - large-sized berries, rich in juice, fleshy, with high sugar content; well suited for creating alcoholic drinks;
  • Pink Haze - a variety that is highly sweet, transports well, but is often preyed upon by wasps and bees;
  • Pink Peach - 23% sugar content, early ripening, large fruits, frost resistant.

How to make wine from pink grapes at home

To prepare a drink, you will need to follow the recipe. There are several ways to help create quality alcohol yourself.

Classic recipe

We will prepare the drink according to the following recipe:

  1. Chop the grapes, crush the berries to make juice, add water (depending on the amount of juice).
  2. Sprinkle everything with sugar, mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon or a washed hand.
  3. Place the container in a room with a stable temperature, cover the neck with gauze.
  4. After a few days (5-7), when the active phase of fermentation is over, drain the mash, remove the pulp, add more sugar.
  5. We equip the container with a water seal or a glove with a hole in the finger, wait for the fermentation to complete.
  6. Remove the mash from the rest, filter it and pour it into a container that is specially prepared for this, close it with a tight lid.
  7. Alcohol keep in a cool and dark room for 3 months; aged wine is better in every way.

Variant using yeast

We add yeast to speed up the fermentation process, it can be live - unwashed raisins.

If you want to use yeast, then add it to the mash, first dissolve it in warm water. Such a mash will ferment faster and more actively, but the drink will have a peculiar taste from yeast.

From Isabella grapes

When using this variety, pay attention to the amount of sugar. You can follow the classic recipe but add more sugar to the mash.

Attention! If 5 kilograms of grapes usually require 2.5 kilograms of sugar, then its amount is increased to 3.

Recipe parsing:

  • berries are crushed, placed in a fermentation tank (requires about a bucket of grapes);
  • filled with sugar and remain in the tank until the end of the active phase of fermentation;
  • then the pulp is removed, squeezed out, the product is not filtered, sugar is added, everything is thoroughly mixed so that it dissolves;
  • wine starts to ferment again, this process will be slow, it will take several weeks/months. To understand that fermentation is over, a water seal will help;
  • when the fermentation is completed, the product is removed from the sediment, filtered and poured into containers with a tight lid;
  • for about 2 more months, the wine will "get" the taste and aroma, it will become lighter, acquire the necessary characteristics.

Attention! When the drink is fermenting, it is better to keep it in a warm place, the room temperature should be stable and not fall below 18 degrees.

Storage rules

Store the drink in a cool, dark place. Temperature fluctuations can spoil the characteristics of the wine.

During the aging process, when the product "gains" aroma and taste, it should be kept in the cellar or underground.

How to drink rose wine correctly?

The drink is poured into a suitable glass, let it stand for a few minutes. Drink cold, in small sips, to feel its taste and aroma.

Rose wine goes well with most dishes, the product will complement the celebration, gatherings with friends. If alcohol is prepared correctly, strictly following the recipe, then it will delight and surprise even an experienced distiller with its characteristics.
