After seven years, Ashwa was presented at a major agricultural exhibition held in Holland. Professional gardeners appreciated this product, and according to the voting results, Ashva took 3rd place.

Mulching and loosening the soil

The soil around the shoot of clematis is loosened in the spring.Thus, the hard crust of the earth is broken, weeds are removed. Further loosening is carried out on a regular basis, especially after watering, as the soil becomes denser. Mulching is carried out immediately after planting. For this you will need:

  • retreat from the nearest stems of the plant 10 centimeters;
  • spread mulch.

The thickness of the layer should not exceed 10 centimeters. As necessary, a layer of mulch is added to the desired mark.

Cutting

When pruning Ashwa clematis, it is enough to know its main feature - its buds form only on young shoots. This means that there is no need to preserve the old shoots, and they are calmly pruned before the onset of winter, but not more than 2 buds. Pruning is done in the spring.

Preparing for winter

Preparing a clematis bush for winter is easy:

  • cut it to a comfortable state;
  • fall asleep with earth to a height of 15 centimeters;
  • check that the root neck is completely covered. If this is not the case, add more earth;
  • for greater reliability, a layer of sawdust is sprinkled on top.

Don't forget to remove the soil after the frost is over.

Cover the clematis shrub in mid-autumn, after removing all the old leaves around the planting site. In the spring, the shelter must be removed so that the earth around the clematis can breathe freely.

Disease and pest control

Culture prone to the following diseases:

  • powdery mildew;
  • rust;

  • alternariosis.

You can get rid of them with:

  • special medicines sold in the store;
  • a solution of water, soap and blue vitriol.

Reproduction methods

For propagation of clematis, the vegetative method or propagation by layering is used. This crop cannot be grown from seeds. The vegetative method is good when the bush grows in the same place for at least 5 years.
