Insecticide Proteus: instructions for use and composition, dosage and analogues
Insecticide treatment of agricultural plants allows you to properly grow plants and get a full harvest from them. Consider the composition and action of the insecticide "Proteus", the purpose and mechanism of action. What are the advantages of the drug, how to dose the drug and how to spend it. What can be combined with the insecticide, how to store and what is allowed to replace.
Composition and formulation of "Proteus"
This insecticide has contact and systemic action. The formula contains 2 active substances: thiacloprid in the amount of 100 g per 1 liter and deltamethrin in the amount of 10 g per 1 liter.The formulation in which the pesticide is produced is an oil dispersion. The liquid is poured into plastic canisters of 5 liters.
What is the drug for and how does it work
"Proteus" is intended for the treatment of wheat, barley, rapeseed, peas, corn, potatoes, tomatoes, carrots, table beet and sugar from a number of common pests.
After spraying on the leaves, the liquid from the solution evaporates, and an oil film remains, which adheres securely to the leaves, is not washed off with water, the substance penetrates the tissues better.
The active substance thiacloprid has translaminar activity. It interacts with the receptors of the nerve fibers of pests, upsets the transmission of impulses along the nerve fibers. Deltamethrin also affects the central nervous system of insects, blocks sodium channels and disrupts the permeability of cell membranes. The death of insects begins a few hours after processing.
Benefits of using
Proteus is characterized by the following advantages:
- reliable protection against leaf-eating and sucking pests;
- long protection period;
- acts not only on larvae and adults, but also on insect eggs;
- can be used at low temperatures in spring, works great at temperatures in the range of 8-30 ˚C.
Protective effect of insecticide treatment lasts 14 days.
Consumption rate of the solution and instructions for use
For corn and beets, the rate of application of "Proteus" is 0.5-1 l per ha, for other crops - 0.5-0.75 l per ha. Spraying is carried out on seedlings of wheat, rapeseed, carrots and beets, for other crops - throughout the growing season. Liquid consumption is different: for wheat, rapeseed and carrots - 100-200 liters per ha, for beets - 200-300 liters per ha and for other plants - 200-400 liters per ha.Processing of peas and tomatoes is carried out once, other crops - 2 times. The waiting period for carrots and beets is 60 days, for all others - 20 days.
Work on sprayed beds or fields can be done 3 days after treatment.
Precautions for use
Proteus is slightly toxic to humans. Spraying should be done in clothes, protective devices for eyes, hands and a respirator. If the solution comes into contact with the skin, it must be washed off with water. Avoid contact of the solution with mucous membranes; in case of contact, rinse with water. Do not drink, eat or smoke during insecticide treatment.
Proteus preparation should not be used near water bodies and springs, wash off the remains of the solution into the water and rinse the working containers. The active compounds of the product are toxic to fish and bees.
There are no crop rotation restrictions for Proteus.It is forbidden to use in personal households; spraying from an aircraft is prohibited. The insecticide is non-toxic to plants and insects when used at the dosage recommended by the manufacturer. To prevent insect resistance to Proteus, it is recommended to alternate its use with other pesticides with a similar effect.
Compatible with other pesticides
Proteus can be combined with many popular fungicides and insecticides, but must be pre-mixed before mixing to determine the overall chemical reaction. If the drugs do not react with each other, then they can be mixed in one container and used for spraying. When making tank mixes, avoid mixing products without first diluting them with water.
How to store?
The product is stored for 4 years in factory canisters with closed lids.Storage conditions - dark, dry and cool room. In the same warehouse with an insecticide, you can store agricultural preparations and fertilizers, you can not store food, feed, medicines and household items.
When stored for a long time, the liquid may delaminate, the precipitate does not fall out. The properties are preserved, but before preparing the solution in this case, you must first shake the liquid. When spraying, oil drops with the active substance will be evenly distributed in the solution. After the end of the storage period, the insecticidal agent must be disposed of. The solution must be used within 1 day, then it gradually loses its effectiveness.
What can I replace?
According to thiacloprid, Proteus has analogues: Asp, Biscay, Calypso, Pondus and Thea. According to deltamethrin - "Atom", "Decis Profi", "Decis Expert", "K-Obiol". These preparations are applicable for the treatment of plants in agriculture.In private household plots, you can use the funds "Decis Profi" and "FAS".
"Proteus" is an effective insecticide that can be used on the fields of farms for spraying cereals, root crops, potatoes, legumes, rapeseed, tomatoes. The drug is characterized by a low rate of application and consumption, so it is economically advantageous to use it on large areas. The solution adheres firmly to the leaves, is not washed off by irrigation water and rain, which makes it unnecessary to re-treat the plantings. Virtually non-toxic to humans, cultivated plants and subsequent crops, animals and soil.
