Gibberellic acid: what is it and instructions for use, storage and analogues
Among agro-industrial preparations, compounds that promote the growth, development and fruiting of crops have gained particular popularity. The use of gibberellic acid in the cultivation of various crops allows you to get strong, he althy plantings, improve the flowering of plants, activate their growth, and achieve increased yields on the site.
What is this?
The product refers to plant hormones, gibberellic acid is a growth and development stimulator of crops. Gibberellins - analogues of plant hormones auxins, were first discovered by the Japanese scientist T.Yabuta in 1935. More than 60 varieties of gibberellins have been identified, GA 1, 3, 4, 7 have the highest activity; lesser - HA 6 and 5. Substances are contained in pathogenic fungi of the species Gibbtrella fujikuroi, which gave the name to the isolated substance.
Gibberellic acid is white or yellowish crystals, odorless and tasteless. Slightly soluble in water and most organic solvents, highly soluble in alcohol and acetone.
The product is available in ampoules, additionally packaged in foil bags, in tablets with an active substance concentration of 20%, in the form of a concentrated paste of 90% or in the form of a ready-to-use alcohol solution of 78%, packaged in ampoules of 5 milligrams.
Important: it is necessary to strictly observe the dosage of the product recommended by the manufacturer. The amount of the drug used depends on the chosen form of release of the product and the concentration of the active substance.
When used
The product is used for various crops, vegetables, berries, grapes are processed.
The drug is capable of:
- increase the percentage of seed germination;
- preserve the ovary, preventing it from falling off even in adverse climatic conditions;
- improve flowering, stimulate fruit development;
- improve the presentation of fruits;
- increase the keeping quality and preservation of the crop.
Can be used for processing flowers and ornamental plants. A prerequisite for the use of the drug is the proper care of plantings, compliance with agrotechnical recommendations for choosing a site for planting, soil composition, watering and fertilizing. The drug is suitable for systematic use, is not toxic.
Gibberellin Instructions
Spraying is carried out on the leaf, with a finely dispersed jet (the formation of drops is unacceptable). 1 ml of the working solution of the drug is dissolved in 1 liter of distilled water.
It is more convenient to use ampoules with a ready-made alcohol solution of the drug. Easy to use:
- shake the ampoule before opening;
- Pour a little distilled water into the container and pour in the contents of the package;
- mix thoroughly, bring the volume of the solvent to 4-5 liters;
- re-stirred.
If the drug is in crystalline form, it is first dissolved in 6-7 milliliters of ethyl alcohol, shaken until a homogeneous solution is obtained, after the crystals are completely dissolved, the product is injected into distilled water.
It is convenient to use a syringe to measure the required doses of a concentrated mother (alcohol) solution. Do not exceed the concentration of the drug.
There are several types of treatment: soaking seed material (seeds and tubers before planting), spraying plants, dipping inflorescences in the drug solution. The aerial part is processed to increase the green mass or inflorescence, to accelerate the development of fruits. Processing is carried out in cloudy calm weather at a temperature of +16 to +25 ° С.
When processing grapes, the brushes are dipped into a container with a working solution of the preparation or a plaster impregnated with the agent in combination with glucose is fixed on the comb. Tomato seedlings are processed 1.5 weeks before planting in a permanent place.
Safety precautions
The drug is non-toxic and not dangerous when used. Handling should be done with rubber gloves.
Caring for plants after application
To get the effect, plants need: proper watering, loosening and mulching of the soil, timely fertilization.Plants should not suffer from lack of moisture. Plants can be treated with phytohormone: geranium, begonia. Used for processing garden flowers (most effective for processing bulbous and tuberous varieties).
Compatibility
Can be used with teourea (20mg per liter of water) and other mineral complex fertilizers for increased effectiveness.
Storage rules
The drug is stored away from medicines and foodstuffs, out of the reach of children. An aqueous working solution is used within a day after preparation, it is not suitable for long-term storage.
The mother (alcohol) solution of the drug is kept in a tightly closed glass container, in a cool place. It can be stored without loss of effectiveness for 6 months.
