Tomato Lionheart F1 - a godsend for gardeners. The hybrid gives early juicy fruits. It can be grown in open ground, under a film and in unheated greenhouses. Worth finding a spot and planting some bushes!

Why the hybrid is attractive

Breeders create hybrids to fix certain properties. Lionheart gives a good yield and excellent taste.

Plant description:

  • early maturity (from pecking to harvest <105 суток);
  • indeterminate hybrid;
  • in the greenhouse, the height of the bush is 1 m, in the open field it stretches up to 1.5 m;
  • leaf plates are medium, color is bright green;
  • the first brush is tied after 8 leaves;
  • each brush up to 8 berries;
  • outdoor yield 3.5 kg/m², in greenhouse 17 kg/m²;
  • hybrid resistant to TMV, verticillium.

Lionheart is made to be eaten fresh. Tomatoes are delicious in salads, original in cutting. Some gardeners actively process substandard fruits into sauces and pastes.

Yields and technical data were evaluated by experts. The hybrid is included in the State Register of the Russian Federation under the number of the Russian Federation 9811420. It proved to be excellent in private gardens and household plots.

What makes Lionheart different

Lionheart tomatoes belong to the Oxheart family. They are big and juicy. Yield is achieved by size, not number of fruits.

Characteristics of tomatoes:

  • reach a mass of 200 g;
  • heart-shaped, spout below;
  • ripe tomato bright red;
  • smooth to the touch, no ribbing;
  • 4-6 seed chambers;
  • meaty juicy pulp;
  • tomatoes have a sweet and sour taste;
  • not coarse skin.

Gardeners willingly supplement their personal collections with Lionheart tomato. They appreciate the taste and technical qualities of the hybrid.

How to achieve the desired result

Growing a tomato does not cause much trouble. But to get delicious tomatoes, you should follow the recommendations of breeders:

  • sow for seedlings from March 10 to March 20;
  • sprout at a temperature of 23-25 degrees;
  • loops should be placed in a lighted place;
  • ensure the temperature is 18 degrees;
  • be sure to increase daylight hours;
  • drop into special containers in a week;
  • spraying seedlings with growth stimulants will strengthen them;
  • it is recommended to apply mineral fertilizers (according to the manufacturer's instructions) along with watering;
  • regularly harden, ventilate;
  • after the soil dries, water;
  • place on beds filled with organic matter since autumn;
  • in spring, enrich the soil with complete fertilizer (nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus);
  • plants ready for placement when 6 true leaves have grown;
  • should maintain distance: 40 cm x 60 cm;
  • optimally mulch the soil (to retain moisture, facilitate care);
  • lion requires 1-2 stems;
  • preferably stepchild bushes;
  • stems brittle: garter required.

To obtain a crop of large fruits, the plant should be provided with sufficient illumination. In the shade, the tomatoes will become sourer and smaller.

Some gardeners consider the formation of the Lionheart superfluous. The hybrid does not produce more than 2 stems in the greenhouse. Berries grow up to 500 g.

Opinions of summer residents

Reviews of gardeners are mixed. A positive assessment was earned by: taste, fruit size; disease resistance, ease of growing hybrid.

"Minus" set for:

  • ripening of tomatoes later than indicated on the label;
  • smaller outdoor tomatoes;
  • low portability;
  • shelf life is less than 2 weeks.

Gardeners recommend planting the Lionheart in greenhouses: the yield is 3 times higher. In cool summers, the hybrid suffers from phytophthora.

The advantages of a tomato are taste and size: for them, summer residents are ready to put up with shortcomings.
