Eurolighting herbicide: instructions for use, aftereffects of use

Increasingly, the practice of sunflower cultivation under the Clearfield system is being used, using Eurolighting herbicide to kill weeds. Powerful herbicide kills all common weeds, including broomrape, which has a low susceptibility to chemicals. Composition and dosage form of the drug Eurolighting

Herbicide in the form of a water-soluble concentrate is produced by BASF (Germany). Available in 5 and 10 liter plastic containers.

Active ingredients in Eurolighting:

• imazapyr (5 g/l);
• imazamox (33 g/l).

An improved product is also being released - Eurolighting plus. The concentration of the main components is reduced in it, but auxiliary substances are added. The result is an increase in the "aggressiveness" of the impact on weeds.

Mechanism and spectrum of herbicide action

Once on the plant, the active substances quickly penetrate into the internal tissues, inhibit the enzyme ALS (acetolactate synthase) present in plant organisms. The enzyme catalyses the synthesis of the amino acids leucine and valine. After inhibition of ALS, protein formation in the tissues is interrupted, the plant dies.

Eurolighting destroys broomrape, wheatgrass, quinoa, ragweed, other weeds and dicot species.

Clearfield treatment is exclusively applied to sunflowers that are not sensitive to imazapyr and imazamox. These are hybrid varieties - Zaklik, Tristan, Rocky, Zahist, Brio, Neoma and others.

After using the herbicide, a soil aftereffect is noted. The remaining particles of active substances cause incorrect and insufficient development of the next cultivated plants. Therefore, the competent use of crop rotation is required.

Advantages and disadvantages of weed control

Of the benefits it should be noted:

• destruction of weeds after sunflower seedlings;
• getting rid of all varieties of broomrape;
• double action (elimination of both germinating weeds and those that have entered the vegetative stage);
• suppression of perennial weeds.

Drug consumption rates

Standard - 1.2 liters per hectare. But if the weeds are small and the soil is loose, then you can take a liter per hectare.

How to prepare a working solution?

The herbicide is diluted in proportion of 1.2 liters of concentrate to 200-300 liters of water.

How to apply the herbicide correctly?

Processing is done once, by spraying. The drug is valid for up to 60 days. It should be sprayed on a non-rainy day, at an air temperature of 10 ° C. After heavy rain, the procedure can be started only after 3 days.

The instructions for use indicate that the treatment is carried out when the emerging sunflower reaches the stage of 2-8 true leaves. The herbicide works best when used when weeds are actively developing (2-4 leaf stage for dicotyledons, 5 leaf stage for cereals).

Eurolighting is not used with fertilizers and other plant protection products as it becomes less effective.

Safety rules for use

The drug is distributed carefully, without overlap, as a double amount of the substance can destroy the sunflower. The tanks are filled with mortar outside the field boundary. If the herbicide is spilled on the soil, then it will be barren in this place for several seasons.

The worker must follow safety precautions: use eye and skin protection. It is unacceptable to eat food during operation, to let children and animals near the sprayer. Do not apply the herbicide at a distance closer than 3 kilometers from the border of the flight of bees.

It is necessary to ensure that the sprayed solution is not blown away by the wind to neighboring plantings. It is forbidden to wash the used sprayer where drinking water is taken and cultivated plants are planted.

Crop rotation restrictions

After spraying, the herbicide Eurolighting works for some time, and the planting of successive crops is undesirable. Recommended planting:

• crops - at least 4 months after weeding;
• corn, beans - in 9 months;
• buckwheat, vegetables - after 1.5 years;
• rapeseed, root crops - in 2 years.

Working with the sprayer

The used tank of the sprayer must be thoroughly cleaned so that no chemical particles remain. The container is filled with clean water, left for 15 minutes. The water is poured out, the procedure is repeated.

Next, ammonia is used. A solution is poured into the tank, in which water and ammonia are combined in a ratio of 100: 1. The agent is left in the container for 15 minutes, then it is passed through the hose through the spray nozzle. The sieves are washed in the remaining solution.

Herbicide toxicity

Eurolighting herbicide is included in the 3rd toxicity group for living organisms. Poisonous components are deadly for bees, penetrating into the human body, causing poisoning.

The substances in the preparation are volatile, especially harmful to the respiratory system. Therefore, work with the herbicide should be on a non-hot day, in the morning or evening.
