Folicur is a systemic fungicide that is used to protect cereals, grapes, rapeseed from major types of fungal diseases. The drug has growth-regulating and yield-enhancing properties. It is used for spraying crops during the growing season. Penetrates inside plants in just a couple of hours. Crop spraying work is carried out in dry, calm weather.

Release form, composition and purpose of the fungicide

Folicur Fungicide is a systemic chemical preparation from the German company Bayer.It is produced in the form of an emulsion concentrate (oil in water), which is poured into 5 liter canisters. It is used to protect cereals, grapes and rapeseed from various fungal diseases.

The active substance is tebuconazole, which belongs to the class of triazoles. The drug is active against septoria, rust, powdery mildew, oidium, rot, spotting, mold, fusarium, phomosis. Can be used to improve growth and increase germination of rapeseed.

The fungicide is diluted with water in the proportion indicated in the instructions and is used to spray crops during the growing season.

Mechanism of drug action

The fungicidal agent is absorbed by the vegetative organs of the plant for several hours and is evenly distributed over all organs and tissues. The active substance - tebuconazole - inhibits an enzyme that affects the biosynthesis of sterols, as a result of which the integrity of fungal cells is disrupted.The fungicide slows down the growth and development of the pathogen, and ultimately leads to the death of the fungus.

Advantages and disadvantages of the remedy

Benefits of using Folicure:

  • reduces diseases in crops;
  • increases the yield of rapeseed;
  • increases the winter hardiness of winter crops;
  • reduces grain lodging;
  • penetrates plants 2-4 hours after spraying;
  • Provides a protective effect for 2-4 weeks.

Cons:

  • repeated use of the same active substance in fungi leads to resistance;
  • effective only in the early stages of fungal infection.

Consumption rate

Folicur fungicide is used in the following dosages (at a working fluid consumption rate of 200-400 l/ha):

  • for cereals - 0.5-1 l/ha;
  • for rapeseed - 0.5-0.75-1 l/ha;
  • for grapes - 0.4 l/ha.

Preparation of working solution

Fungicide is used on large commercial cereal and rapeseed farms. The drug in the required amount is poured into the tank of the unit for fine spraying, filled 1/3 with clean water. The mixture is stirred until smooth, after which the remainder of the liquid is added.

Plants are sprayed on the day the solution is prepared.

Instructions for using the product

Fungicide solution used:

  1. For cereals. During the growing season, 2 treatments are carried out: from the beginning of tillering to the end of heading. Interval - 30 days.
  2. For rapeseed. During the growing season (at the time of the appearance of 3-5 leaves). 1 treatment is carried out per season. The period from the last spraying to harvest is 50 days.
  3. For grapes. 3 sprayings are carried out per season. The first is before flowering. Interval - 20 days. The last spraying is carried out 30 days before harvest.

Safety precautions when working with the drug

It is necessary to carry out the processing of crops in a protective suit, mask or respirator, in rubber boots and mittens. During spraying, you can not talk, smoke, eat food. After field work, you need to wash your face and hands with warm water and soap, rinse your mouth with a soda solution. It is forbidden to inhale the vapors of the solution, drink the concentrated emulsion.

Toxicity

The drug belongs to the 3rd hazard class. It is not dangerous for people, animals, birds, beneficial insects. In the recommended dosage it is not toxic for the processed plants. It is not recommended to use bees during the summer.

Compatibility with other products

Fungicide can be used in conjunction with other plant protection products. The drug is compatible with insecticides, fungicides, liquid fertilizers, various herbicides.

All products must be tested for miscibility before use.

Storage conditions

Emulsion concentrate in its original packaging can be stored for 3-4 years from the date of manufacture. The chemical preparation must be kept separately from food, out of the reach of children. The optimum storage temperature is 15-20 degrees above zero. The drug should be stored indoors, protected from moisture penetration, from direct sunlight.

Analogues

The fungicidal agent Folicur has a number of analogues with a similar composition. For example, the drug Unique is a concentrated suspension based on tebuconazole.It is used for processing rapeseed and cereals. Protects crops from powdery mildew, rust, fusarium, rot, spotting. The drug is sold in 5 liter plastic cans.
