Fungicide Colosal: instructions for use, consumption rates and analogues
Fungal diseases cause significant damage to crops. They reduce yields, spoil the quality of fruits, sometimes completely destroy crops. Modern agricultural technology involves the use of antifungal drugs to protect and cure plants. Kolosal Pro is a two-component systemic fungicide used by professionals in high-yield agricultural production.
Composition, dosage form and purpose of the drug Colosal Pro
Fungal Infection Remedy has 2 active ingredients:
- propiconazole - 300 grams per liter, i.e. 30%;
- tebuconazole - 200 grams per liter, 20%.
These substances belong to the group of triazoles - organic compounds that inhibit the synthesis of sterols in the body of fungi.
High fungicidal properties are ensured by the fine dispersion of the solution - Colosal particles do not exceed 200 nanometers.
Fungicide is produced in plastic canisters of 5 and 10 liters. The developer and manufacturer of the drug is Avgust LLC, Russia.
Kolosal was created for industrial processing of crops on large areas from fungal infection. Applications:
- Cereals. Rust - brown, yellow, stem, dwarf. Spotting - dark brown, reticulate, striped. Powdery mildew.
- Grapes - oidium.
- Sugar beet - phomosis, cercosporosis, powdery mildew.
- Soya - ascochitosis, cercosporosis, alternariosis, septoria, anthracnose.
- Rapeseed - phomosis, powdery mildew, alternariosis.
- Peas - anthracnose, rust, powdery mildew, ascochitosis.
The drug is defined as a nanoemulsion, the smallest particles are easily sprayed and distributed over the tissue structures of plants in a short time.
Fungicide mechanism of action
The components of Kolosal Pro, which are in a state of fine suspension, rise up through the conducting system of plants and are distributed throughout all tissues. Both active substances inhibit and stop the synthesis of ergosterol in fungal cell membranes. The death of mushrooms leads to a h alt in the growth of mycelium (mycelium in general).
Tebuconazole and propiconazole have different areas of activity. Joint action suppresses all types of pathogenic flora. For infected crops, Colosal Pro serves as a medicine, freeing from pathogenic flora that have penetrated inside.
Propiconazole also stimulates vegetation in crops, as it increases the rate of photosynthesis.
Protection period and exposure speed
After 2-4 hours after spraying, Colosal spreads through tissue structures and begins to work. It stops the growth of mycelium, kills fungi that have penetrated inside and destroy the plant.
Activity against pathogenic flora persists for 4-5 weeks. Falling precipitation does not affect the effectiveness of Kolosal. As the temperature rises, the fungicidal properties increase.
Good and bad sides
The unconditional advantages of the drug include:
- active against most known fungi;
- high penetration into all plant tissues;
- speed of action and long-term activity of the drug;
- pronounced medicinal properties - eliminates fungi from completely affected crops;
- used under any weather conditions, the action covers almost the entire growing season;
- does not inhibit soil microorganisms.
The negative aspects of the impact and use of Kolosal Pro are:
- does not stop spore formation in some fungi, requiring repeated treatments;
- the drug is difficult to neutralize, so it is not used in household conditions;
- highly toxic to bees, beneficial insects, fish;
- does not eliminate some types of fungal infections, in particular fusarium, root rot.
The drug is not used to protect seedlings, seedlings. Cereals should be pollinated before entering the tube, since it does not penetrate into the ears later.
Consumption rate for different plants
The manufacturer suggests using Colosal in the following quantities:
Culture | Liters drug per hectare | Working fluid volume (liters) | Waiting time (day) |
Grains | 0.3-0.4 | 300 | 38 |
Grapes | 0.2-0.3 | 800-1000 | 30 |
0.5-0.6 | 200-400 | 40 | |
0.4-0.6 | 200-400 | 40 | |
0.4-0.6 | 200-400 | 30 |
The upper allowable value of the amount of fungicide is chosen if the crops are heavily infected.
How to prepare a working solution
Separately, the mother liquor is not diluted. The required volume of the drug is poured into a container half-filled with water, stirred. Add the rest of the water. Stirring is also carried out during spraying.
The remaining solution is disposed of, it is not subject to storage.
How to apply
According to the instructions, the effectiveness of the fungicide application is the higher, the earlier the crops were treated - at the beginning of the spread of the fungus and on young growing crops. Application Rules:
- cereals - 1 time during early growing season;
- grapes - 3-4 times, the first time - before flowering, the last - when grapes with peas;
- sugar beets, legumes, rapeseed - 1-2 times.
Crops are processed until the fungi damage the internal structures of the plants to prevent crop loss.
Safety rules for use
When working with a fungicide, you must follow the prescribed safety rules:
- Pour into containers on special sites (concrete, rammed earth). Distance from housing, premises for animals, pastures, water sources - 200-500 meters.
- When diluting fungicide and spraying, use protective suits - overalls, boots, respirators, goggles, gloves.
- Wash thoroughly when finished.
- The remains of the fungicide solution are disposed of with special means.
Store canisters in isolated back rooms, separate from things, inventory, products.
Reference: there is no antidote for Kolosal, in case of poisoning they use the usual means - gastric lavage, taking adsorbents.
Possibility of resistance
The drug belongs to systemic fungicides, the development of resistance in pathogenic flora, if used correctly, is not observed.
Fungicide toxicity level
Kolosal Pro is classified as a highly dangerous class 2 drug.
Is it compatible with other products
All preparations for the protection of crops of the company "August" are compatible, they can be used in joint processing. Pesticides, herbicides are mixed in containers with water, Colosal is injected last.
Fungicide is not combined with concentrated alkalis or acids. After preparing the solution, a phytotoxicity check is required before processing.
Drug storage
Fungicide located in closed factory packaging is stored in special rooms for no more than 2 years. Permissible temperature range - from -15°to +35°.

If the pathogen type is defined, the fields can be treated with a smaller spectrum fungicide with one active ingredient.
Application of Kolosal Pro is a reliable and proven way to protect plants and get a stable harvest. Knowledge of the rules and strict adherence to the instructions for using the fungicide reduces the risk of toxic effects on land, crops and humans.
