Anonim

Parasitic infestations that spread to all livestock often become a real problem for poultry farmers. A drug that destroys ticks, fleas, roundworms, called "Ivermek" is used to treat pigeons in a therapeutic dosage by adding to the water that is fed to the birds, or by external application. For effective and safe use of the product, you must follow the recommendations and requirements of the instructions.

Active substances and dosage form of the drug

The composition is represented by two pharmacologically active components - ivemectin and tocopherol (vitamin E) in amounts of 10 and 40 milligrams, respectively, in 1 milliliter of the total volume of the mixture. "Ivermek" has the appearance of a colorless or yellowish solution with slight opalescence. The liquid is packaged in glass containers with a volume of 1 to 500 milliliters, sealed for running in or in plastic bottles with a capacity of 400, 500 milliliters and 1 liter.

When Ivermek is needed

"Ivermek" has a powerful antiparasitic effect, is active against invasive agents at any stage of their development. Ivermectin is a nerve agent for parasites. The substance affects the membrane transport of chloride ions and GABA receptors, disrupting the conduction of nerve impulses, which causes paralysis and death of mature individuals and larvae.

"Ivermek" is used to treat pigeons with the following diseases:

  • nematodosis;
  • ascariasis;
  • heterakidosis;
  • capillariasis;
  • different types of entomoses.

The drug is allowed to be used for the treatment and prevention of parasitic diseases of pigeons. The method and mode of application depend on the specific disease.

Instructions for the use of the medicinal product for pigeons

For the treatment of helminthic invasions, Ivermek is given orally to pigeons, dissolving a therapeutic dose in drinking water. The exact amount of the product is calculated based on the recommended daily dosage of ivermectin, which is 400 micrograms (0.04 milliliters of the drug) per 1 kilogram of pigeon weight.

To prepare a dilution of the drug for the treatment of pigeons, the daily dose is increased in proportion to the livestock and dissolved in a quarter of the average daily water volume. Before giving "Ivermek" with water, the birds are not allowed to drink for 1.5-2 hours.

Based on the average weight of an adult pigeon, 0.5 milliliters of a medicinal solution will be required for 50 pigeons. To accurately measure the right amount, the liquid from the vial is usually drawn using a medical syringe. With a small volume of solution, an insulin syringe is used.

In case of nematodes, a single application of the agent is sufficient. With entomosis, the procedure is carried out three times: the solution is given again a day after the first dose, and the third time - 2 weeks after the previous dose. With knemidokoptosis in pigeons, Ivermek is used externally. The solution is taken with a syringe and applied 1-2 drops to the neck area, under the wings and tail, lightly rubbing the liquid.

Contraindications and side effects

If the dosage and regimen are observed, pigeons tolerate the treatment well. "Ivermek" is contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity of the bird to the components of the product. Violation of the rules for the rational use of the drug can cause the development of the following adverse reactions:

  • apathy;
  • diarrhea;
  • loss of appetite;
  • tremor;
  • hypersalivation.

Mild side effects resolve on their own without requiring intervention. In severe forms of the reaction, the drug is canceled and symptomatic treatment is carried out.
