Such a drug as hydrogen peroxide is used not only in medical practice, but also used by gardeners in agrotechnical care of crops. Thanks to its disinfectant properties, it is possible to disinfect the seeds during the germination process and fight common diseases. Before using hydrogen peroxide to treat plants, you need to study the rules for using the drug.

Such a drug as hydrogen peroxide has a positive effect on all living organisms, including plants.Under natural conditions, the main moisture of the crop is obtained after rainfall, such water has a unique chemical composition that promotes the growth and development of plants. At home, it is impossible to achieve the same composition of the irrigation liquid, and here a drug comes to the rescue, which is recommended to be used to germinate seeds and moisten seedlings.

The advantages of using hydrogen peroxide in gardening and floriculture experienced summer residents include the following points:

In light, air-permeable soil, seeds germinate faster and fruit crops develop. To saturate the soil with oxygen and improve its quality, a peroxide-based solution is used. To do this, one bottle of the drug is dissolved in 4 liters of settled water, and the soil is shed with this liquid at the place where the plants will subsequently be planted.

If the soil is clayey and heavy, do it twice a season - in spring, before planting crops, and in autumn, after harvesting.

Hydrogen peroxide is also used as a fertilizer for young plants. A tablespoon of peroxide is added to ordinary water for irrigation; crops are irrigated with this liquid. This is especially true if the plant has just been transplanted, and it is dangerous to use conventional mineral complexes due to the risk of burns.

Decontamination of seed

Processing of seed material for the purpose of disinfection can be carried out in several ways, everyone chooses the method that is more convenient for him, they are equally effective.

To prepare the seeds, you need:

warm a bottle of peroxide to room temperature (do it in a water bath or just in your hands). The seed material is poured into a 3% solution and kept in it for about 10 minutes, after which they are taken out, laid out on a dry cloth and waiting for the seeds to dry;
pour the required amount of a 10% preparation into a spray bottle, spread the seeds on a flat surface and spray them evenly;
mix 10% peroxide solution and seed in equal proportions, hold for 12 hours and let dry naturally.

Spraying and soaking the root system

For self-grown or purchased seedlings, use a weak concentration of the drug. 20 drops of peroxide are diluted in 1 liter of distilled or boiled water, and seedlings are poured under the root with this liquid, the procedure is carried out no more than once a week.

In the event that seedlings are to be picked or transferred to open ground, the roots of seedlings are placed in such a solution for 3-4 hours. This allows you to get rid of harmful microorganisms that live in the soil.

Cheap feeding

If you plan to use hydrogen peroxide as a fertilizer, you need to dissolve a bottle of medicine in 5 liters of water; this composition to carry out irrigation under the root. This procedure is recommended to be carried out weekly. It will not replace a full-fledged top dressing using organic and mineral fertilizers, but it will help the plant maintain a decorative appearance and avoid diseases.
