It should be noted that despite the name, the fruits of the variety are mostly not black, but brown, dark brown or purple-burgundy.

Variety description

"Chernomor" is a mid-season variety (110-120 days from the moment of planting in the ground until the fruit ripens). Semi-determinate tomato, suitable for both open ground and greenhouse conditions.

The height of the bush depends on the growing conditions, on average it reaches one and a half meters. The variety requires a garter to a support and moderate pinching. The best yield was achieved when the bush was formed in 2-3 stems.

Features of cultivation

Seeds for seedlings are sown 60-70 days before planting in a permanent place. Seedlings dive in the 2-leaf stage. When landing "Chernomor" on the beds, per 1 sq. meter usually place no more than 4 plants. Proper care of tomatoes consists in regular watering, timely weeding, and the use of mineral fertilizers.

Fruit characteristics

For the Chernomor tomato variety, flat-round fruits are characteristic, purple-burgundy, weighing from 150 to 300 g, with juicy fleshy pulp. Suitable for both fresh consumption and home canning.
