The food of the mute, or indoutok, is characterized by a high content of greens. Birds can be released for free grazing in the summer and save on feed. To gain weight, high-protein grain mixtures are added to the diet of ducks. But grass and cereals are not all that you can feed indoutka at home, because for rapid growth they need vitamins and minerals from an early age.

Basic rules

Muscovy ducks eat two types of food:

  • grains and herbs with vitamin supplements;
  • compound feed.

Main components of grain feed:

  • barley;
  • wheat;
  • oats;
  • corn.

Premixes are added to cereals - ready-made vitamin complexes, as well as legumes. Peas and lupine contain the protein necessary for weight gain. Premixes contribute to the growth and high egg production of Indote. The immunity of young and sick birds is maintained with the help of soluble vitamins, which are added to drinking water.

To saturate the body with calcium and form an egg shell, Indian women need flour from fish bones and meat and bone waste of cattle, dairy products.

Compound feed for fattening consists of 15-18 percent protein and contains the necessary grain base and vitamin supplements. After 8-12 weeks of intensive feeding, the birds are ready for slaughter. How to properly feed an indout:

  • choose a balanced diet high in protein;
  • give plenty of water;
  • feed three times a day;
  • add fresh herbs to grain and animal feed.

In the wild, ducks eat greens. 10 percent of the diet of poultry should also be forbs. Ducks need crushed shell rock to digest coarse plant fibers.

What can I feed indoutok

The main nutritional requirement is a high content of protein, calcium, phosphorus and sodium.

From day one

Diet for newborn ducklings:

Finely chopped boiled duck or chicken eggs5 grams of fat-free cottage cheese for each duck.
Age in daysDiet
First

SecondAdd corn and barley flour to the eggs.
Third

Millet

Crushed green onions, fresh beet greens, spinach

FourthBoiled meat scraps

Day-old chicks are fed with a weak solution of manganese at room temperature. Newly hatched ducklings only eat moving objects. Therefore, they need to pour chopped eggs on top. Food lying still in a bowl will not be seen by them.

From the third day, little chicks are fed starter feed with a protein content of 20 percent. The nutrition of week-old ducklings consists of wet mash with feed, herbs, cottage cheese in a meat or fish bowl. Shredded corn and wheat are also added. From the tenth day, flour is mixed from the bones of boiled fish. The diet of two-week-old chicks is diluted with sunflower meal and fodder yeast.

Ducklings should be fed 6-7 times a day, at regular intervals, and potassium permanganate should be given twice a week to prevent intestinal diseases.

From 20 days

Grown up ducklings are fed with fresh grass. The amount of feed per day is increased to one hundred and ten grams per individual. Scalded nettle leaves, chopped carrots, and fish oil are added to the mute food. In summer, ducklings are given more water.

Advice for beginner poultry farmers: mash on broths should be cooked in an amount that the chicks will eat at a time. Half-eaten mixtures spoil quickly and attract insects. With the addition of vegetable food, ducklings should be given crushed eggshells, shells, fine gravel, chalk for better digestion of tough stems.

From 30 days

Monthly ducklings are released to graze on the grass. Green food contains vitamins necessary for growth and weight gain at this age. One duckling requires the following amount of cereals in grams:

  • wheat - 20;
  • corn - 70;
  • millet porridge - 19;
  • sunflower cake - 12.

Growing indoo is not complete without swimming. Duckweed is useful for young birds. It is added to the swimming pool for ducklings. Muteers need a varied diet. Shellfish, potato peelings, bread crusts, zucchini are added to food. They also continue to give yeast - 6 grams per day per individual.

Adults

Indoutok fatten up to two months of age. Ducklings gain 2.5 kilograms with intensive nutrition without walking. After sixty days, the birds begin their first molt and rapidly lose weight.

After six months, the diet does not change significantly.The basis is cereals and greens. In second place are vegetables, boiled potatoes, carrots and beets. The diet must contain cottage cheese, bone meal and solid particles - crushed shells, gravel. S alt and chalk are used as mineral additives.

Features of nutrition in different seasons

In spring, Indian women need more vitamins A, D and E. Concentrates or premixes, as well as carrots and fish oil, will help to fill their deficiency. In summer, the emphasis is on green fodder, which ducks get from grazing. They also give wheat, oats, barley, corn. During molting, ducks need sulfur, which they get from beans, cabbage, fish offal and bones.

In winter, the weight of ducks is supported by steamed lard, cabbage, beets and carrots. Grain flour, silage, potatoes are added to cereals.

Experienced farmers make their own feed mixtures for indoutkas. Complicated recipes can be replaced with ready-made complete feeds.

A simple way to fatten up indouts is to feed with compound feed. There are types of ready mixes:

  • starting - from the first week of life;
  • for growth - from the eighth week;
  • concentrates - cereal protein blends.

Complete rations are used as the sole feed as they contain all the necessary supplements.

How to feed indoo for forced molting

Ducks almost never lay during the feather change. Natural molting lasts up to six months. To prevent the economy from becoming a loss, birds are introduced into a state of stress and accelerate the shedding of feathers.

Shedding is caused by changes in nutrition and lighting. On the first day, the Indians are not fed, they are only allowed to drink. Then the birds are kept without water, food and light for a day. On the third day, they give out 50 grams of grain, water and turn on the lighting for three hours in the morning. On the fourth day, they also illuminate the duck house for three hours, but leave the birds hungry and without water.

In the next two weeks, Indian women are given 100 grams of grain and 4 hours of light per day. In the next 10 days, they feed with compound feed in the same amount and increase the length of daylight hours to six hours. For another 10 days, the amount of the finished mixture is increased by 30 grams, and the light period is increased by 2 hours.

At the final stage, the amount of compound feed is gradually increased to two hundred grams and the indout is transferred to food according to the usual scheme. The duration of illumination is increased twice a week by half an hour until daylight hours reach fourteen hours.
