Varroosis is a dangerous pathology that often affects honey bees. This disease is caused by infection with Varroa mites. To cope with the disease, it is required to use special drugs, one of which is considered to be "Bipin". This tool is highly effective and helps to quickly defeat the disease. At the same time, the instructions for using "Bipin" for bees must be clearly followed.

Composition and release form

Bipin is an effective acaricide. The basis of the substance is amitraz. In appearance, the drug is a yellow liquid.The substance is sold in glass ampoules with a volume of 0.5 or 1 milliliter. Each package contains 10 or 20 pieces. If it is not possible to purchase "Bipin", you can also use the Chinese "Amitraz".

Working principle

"Biping" is widely used in beekeeping. This is due to the pronounced acaricidal properties and the relative safety of the product for bees. The active ingredient of the drug is an organic compound that is of synthetic origin. The substance belongs to the category of triazonpentadienes. In its pure form without the addition of impurities, this component is a white crystalline powder.

The active substance "Bipina" does not pose a threat to bee colonies. It does not affect their productivity and ability to reproduce. At the same time, for warm-blooded animals, the substance poses a moderate danger. On ticks, the drug produces a systemic and contact acaricidal effect.

Indications for use

The main indication for the use of the drug is varroatosis of bees. This is a fairly common disease that poses a great danger to insects - pupae and adults. Varroa mites lead to its development.

At the initial stage, identifying an ailment can be very problematic. Usually parasites cling to the base of the wings or the sides of the bee's abdomen. The mites look like brown plaques.

At a critical stage in the development of the disease, the following symptoms appear:

  • sluggishness of insects - they fall from the platform and move poorly;
  • the appearance of young animals with defects - bees may lack wings or legs, the abdomen is deformed;
  • mass death of pupae;
  • accumulation of dead pupae, larvae and parasites on pallets or nearby.

Infected individuals are slightly different shade of fluff. They show signs of decay and dark brown spots on their bodies. When insects become infected, an unpleasant odor often comes from the hive. With the help of "Bipin" it is possible to quickly and effectively get rid of ticks.

The drug can be used not only for the treatment of varroatosis, but also for prevention. This tool helps to avoid the spread of pathology.

How to apply?

For the use of the drug "Bipin" it must be diluted to the state of an emulsion. In its pure form, the use of a concentrated composition is prohibited. For 1 ampoule with a volume of 1 milliliter, you need to take 2 liters of pure water. It must be at room temperature.It is important that the indicator does not exceed 40 degrees. The finished solution must be used within a day. The next day you need to make a new mixture.

Period of use

To get rid of ticks, it is important to adhere to the time and terms of treatment. First you need to figure out in which month you want to carry out manipulations. This is of great importance in terms of the safety of the brood, as "Bipin" is dangerous for him.

That is why it is impossible to apply the remedy in the spring. It will not give the desired effect and will only bring harm. The fight against mites is carried out only at the moment when they are on adult bees, and there is no closed brood in the hive. Female ticks breed in closed cells of honeycombs. At this time, attempts to destroy them will not work.

It is best to use the product in the fall. In this case, a double treatment is usually performed in October. Weather conditions are of great importance during the treatment procedures. It is best to carry out the procedure in dry and calm weather. This should be done only at a positive temperature.

It is much easier to carry out medical manipulations in autumn than in summer. During this period, the bees accumulate in heaps and do not scatter. Therefore, it is easiest to apply the remedy on them. You don't even have to use a mask. After opening the ampoule, the powder can be stored until the expiration date. The prepared solution can be used for 12 hours. Then its remains must be disposed of.

When processing twice, you should adhere to the following terms:

  • immediately after the honey harvest in September;
  • before wintering in October.

If the hive is not too heavily infested with mites, re-treatment with "Bipin" can be omitted. One exposure after collecting honey will be enough.

Dosage

To make a medicinal mixture, you need to take a 1 ml ampoule and mix it with 2 liters of water. The finished emulsion should have a white or milky tint. Any foreign shade is a reason to breed a new composition. It is necessary to prepare the product immediately before use. To do this, use water at room temperature.

To treat hives and get rid of dangerous parasites, you should do the following:

  • pour the solution into a large plastic container;
  • make a small hole in the lid;
  • carefully water the beehives.

The emulsion needs to be poured carefully. It is recommended to do this in small portions. This option has an important disadvantage. It does not allow you to control the amount of substance used. As a result, there is a risk of overdosing, which can negatively affect the bees.

For an accurate calculation, it is worth using a medical syringe. The process will take longer, but it will be easier to pick up the dosage. For one street, it is recommended to use 10 milliliters of solution.

It is also permissible to prepare a healing mixture with kerosene. To do this, it is recommended to take 100 milliliters of kerosene for 4 milliliters of Bipin. This amount will be enough to process 50 bee colonies.

Tools

Bipin treatment can be carried out with a syringe and a dropper, which is connected to a plastic bottle. You can also do this with a smoke gun with a turntable. The first option is suitable for processing a small number of bee colonies, the second is used for large apiaries.

Procedure of actions

Processing of hives should be carried out at an air temperature of +1-5 degrees. It is important to use Bipin correctly:

  1. Prepare a container with the medicine solution.
  2. Remove cover.
  3. Fold the canvas to reveal 2-3 lanes.
  4. Spray the working fluid - 10 milliliters per 1 street. After that, the treated area should be covered with canvas again.
  5. Continue manipulation for untreated areas.
  6. After 4 days, clean up the garbage and die.

It is important to take into account the degree of aggressiveness of the bees. If it is high enough, it is recommended to process 1 street at a time.

When using a smoke gun, "Bipin" is bred according to the instructions. In this case, the emulsion must be poured into the tank and proceed with pollination. For 1 hive, 2-3 servings should be launched. It is recommended to apply the solution through the letok - the lower part of the hive. Then the bees should not be touched until they are completely aired.

Safety

When the dosage is observed, the drug is not dangerous. If the concentration is higher than recommended, there is a risk of toxic effects on bees, larvae and eggs.

Although "Bipin" is a low-toxic agent, this does not mean that you can not take precautions when using it. It is important to avoid getting the substance on the skin, mucous membranes and eyes. Therefore, the treatment of bees must be de alt with in special clothes. In this case, it is worth using a gown, gloves, goggles, a mask.

When processing, it is recommended to take into account the direction of the wind so that the substance does not fall on clothing. After completing the manipulations, hands should be washed with soap and water.

Contraindications

There are a number of rules, the violation of which leads to an overdose of the drug. It is forbidden to process hives with a strength of up to 5 streets.Before starting the procedure, it is important to make sure that the bees respond adequately to the medicine. To do this, you need to select several bee colonies, treat with "Bipin" strictly according to the instructions and observe during the day. If there were no negative reactions, the entire apiary can be processed.

After applying Bipin, honey can be eaten without restrictions. The tool does not affect the taste and useful properties of the product.

At the same time, experts do not recommend processing hives with brood. This should be done after or during the consolidation of the bee club. The air temperature during the application of the product must be above 0 degrees. At lower settings, there is a risk of bees freezing.

Rules and terms of storage

Bipin is recommended to be kept in a dry and dark place. The room should be cool enough. Permissible temperature range - 0 … +30 degrees. The shelf life of the product is 3 years.

Analogues of the drug

Effective analogues of a substance include the following:

  • Apitak;
  • "Amitrazine";
  • Apimitrin.

"Bipin" is an effective tool that helps to successfully cope with varroosis in bees. This drug quickly destroys dangerous ticks and does not harm beneficial insects. In order for the substance to give the desired result and not lead to negative consequences, it is important to follow the instructions clearly.
