The history of the creation of the variety
Tomato Northern Blush was bred by breeders specifically for regions with a harsh climate, where summers are short and cool enough. In the conditions of our country, these tomatoes can be grown in the Moscow region, in the Urals, in a number of regions of Siberia and the Far East. These tomatoes are intended for cultivation in open ground, as well as under film covers or in unheated greenhouses and conservatories in private gardens.
Officially, this tomato was bred at the beginning of this century, passed the necessary tests and was zoned for regions with a fairly cold climate, the date of entering the variety in the State Register is 2010.
Basic qualities of tomato
The fruits of this variety ripen early - usually in 90-100 days, after the appearance of the first leaves at the seedlings, you can start harvesting. The bushes are of the determinant type, the variety is resistant to temperature drops during the period of shoot growth and fruit ripening, as well as to other changes in weather conditions.
Shoots - erect, low (0.8-0.9 m in height) Bushes do not require pinning, however, it is desirable to tie all stems to supports or trellises.
The stems are slightly leafy, the foliage is pale emerald, medium in length, the same as in all tomatoes. The flowers are simple, collected in racemose inflorescences, the first raceme usually grows after the first true leaf. 5-7 brushes can appear on a bush.
The variety does not require pinching the tops, it can grow both in open beds and under a film cover.
In order for all growing fruits to ripen in a short summer season, Northern Blush bushes should be formed into no more than 3 stems. The description of the variety will be incomplete without mentioning the resistance of shoots and fruits to major diseases. Since tomatoes begin to ripen in mid-summer, late blight usually does not affect these tomatoes. The resistance of the plant to other diseases is above average.
